Answer by She is my Sunshine My daughter is 14 months and also has a milk allergy. She is drinking Silk soy milk, Vanilla. She has seen a GI MD for this and also for reflux, they said as long as she is drinking a well balanced diet there is no need for anything else. She eats 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. All regular table foods, no baby foods. She is growing and gaining weight just fine.
If you want to add fat, I would first talk to your MD, she probably doesn’t need it.
Edit – I can totally understand. She doesn need those fats from meats. Have you tried the good old fashion, chicken nuggets, hot dogs and all that? Belle loves those.

Answer by Querious Look for a second and third opinion.
Food allergy seems to be the trendy thing to diagnose kids with…if it were so then she would have had a reaction to the pizza.

Question by misst22: I just recently found out my 4 year old son has an allergy to milk.?
They also said he cant have any other dairy products. But he loves cheese, eggs.yogurt, ice cream and so on. Are there any products out there i can give him so that he can still enjoy the foods that he likes.
Best answer:
Answer by Nick C Allergic or intolerant? Intolerance means it may cause things like eczema, allergic means he gets an instant or very quick reaction to dairy products. Intolerance probably means he can still have small amounts.
There are loads of products that substitute for dairy. The ones that I use mostly are Alpro soya products and goats’ cheese. The sweetened alpro milk, not long-life, can be used just like normal milk to make loads of things like white sauces, custard, pancakes and in hot drinks.
Swedish Glace non-dairy ice-cream is also widely available and tastes pretty good.
Eggs are not dairy…unless you have a very strange cow, they are not a problem!
Good luck!

Question by jessicatemple1979: My 2 year old and his food allergies?
Ok so really this is just asking if there is any recipe books out there for kids with high allergies. He tested positive in a blood test a year ago after having pneumonia and other attacks for; eggs, milk, soy, corn, strawberries, chocolate, wheat, oats and non-food allergy of dogs, cats and oak trees! He goes to an allergist next month and was prescribed an epi pen! He broke out from hand sanitizer at the Dr.’s office! Anyone know of any foods or recipes?

Answer by BeenThere2008 Wow, how overwhelming. The best recipes that I know of, since my 2-year old nephew has almost all of the same allergies, come from recipes focusing on whole foods (then you have complete control over ingredients; with processed foods and sauces you don’t) and the raw foods recipes and even the extreme sounding macrobiotic recipes, which are all available in a simple internet search/google. One of things I have found the most helpful for my own sensitivities to foods is that I have completely transformed my perspective on food and instead of focusing on how something tastes I focus on what it does for my body, how it might be beneficial. Tonight I made for my family, including my nephew, a layered sandwich from bread that is okay for him (Dr. Gillian in the UK suggests breads from vegetables!) hollowed out and layered with roasted veggies of sweet peppers, and eggplant, with a layer of hummus on the bottom and a layer of olive tapenade (no nuts) on the top. Along with it we had an unusual concoction of steamed cabbage, salt, pepper, salmon, potatoes, and apples (!!) diced with 1 tsp of cinnamon. Sounds weird, but I was surprised it was a hit, particularly with my brothers who tease me about my attempt at healthful eating and anything that smacks of vegetarianism. My point is, experiment and try new flavors. Incidentally, fruit smoothies made of rice milk and whatever else, can be a nice nutritional treat for kids. Hope you find a resolution.

Question by beavers616: Milk Protein Allergy in a one year old.?
What should I buy to take her off her formula. She has a Milk Protein Allergy. She is still taking her formula now but would like to try a few options.
The doctor put her on Nutrageim when she was 2 months old. Shegoes back to the doctor Friday, so I can talk to her doctor then, but was just wondering other parents opinions. Thanks to all!
She is not on a bottle, she stoped taking a bottle about 2 weeks ago, we just use cups

Answer by ANGELA What about Enfamil AR. Its for acid reflux. Does that have milk protein? If it does, then go to soy milk. All of my kids had to drink it because they were lactose intolerant.
