Question by insidious_22: Do you know any recipes that would work with the following allergies?
Dairy (all forms, milk, cheese, butter, etc)
Processed corn (corn syrup, corn starch, not the actual food corn)
Peanuts

I need something that doesn’t have any of that whatsoever in there. It’s so hard to find something.
There’s also a problem with soy milk. In fact, I think all soy products, but I’m not sure. I need help finding something for my little sister. She mostly eats chicken. She eats other things, but that’s the best we have. I’m looking for dinner recipes.

I could go on and on. But I won’t. Most pasta dishes with a tomato based sauce can be made without any of these. Also, most Asain dishes don’t contain any of these dishes. I don’t want to be mean, but you need to stop thinking American or most European foods and you will have a ton of choices. Think about Indian foods. Many of the gravies are creamy, but they are cooked with coconut milk. Asian food does use a lot of corn starch, but potato starch will have the same effect.

Question by NiNi: With dairy & egg allergies, how would I do in New Orleans, with all the seafood?
I’m heading to Louisiana for the first time soon, I live in Canada. I’m a bit worried because when I go to restaurants, I don’t have many options open to me because of my allergies; except fish (because they usually contain no dairy). Thankfully, I love seafood. But is it done differently in Louisiana? I’ve never been any where near the southern part of America, and I’m worried that most the food I’ll get in the restaurant would have milk or eggs in it. Please help me out here!

Louisiana is full of seafood. My bf and I went there this past march and most of the place were seafarrivedsteraunts. I would suggest looking up resteraunts online in the area you are going to be staying at. Alot of places have their menus online and from there you can get a general feel for what kind of food will be at what places.Hope I helped.Have an awesome trip, its fun down there!

Question by Rachel: White or Wheat bread: Truly, which one is healthier? Brand recommendations would be great as well!?
I’ve heard all the stories that Wheat bread is healthier — but, there are people who have gluten allergies and so wheat bread is NOT healthy for them due to the barley. But what about white bread? Is enriched white flour so horrible?

The best way to go either wheat or white is just get a whole grain one. I prefer Sarah lee’s whole grain white. Whole grain is very healthy.
