Food Allergies Treatment

My son is 7 months old and has been using the Similac Sensitive formula. Its milk based but lactose free (however that works?), this formula was the one that he had no problems with. My question is, because he hasn’t had any lactose or anything will his chances of having an allergy be more likely? Should I be trying to change his formula now to regular to get him used to it?

I am currently awaiting the test results to find out what all my son is allergic to since something he is eating drinking or coming in contact is causing to vomit and have diarrhea. I am thinking it is a Milk allergy. So if that is the case many food we eat contain milk or are made with milk. So now what do I do? He is four and I am afraid he might not take to lactose free milk products. Does anyone have any suggestions? Other Information he couldn’t tolerate regular or soy based formulas as an infant. He was on Simalic Alimentum.

but i have no problem eat ice cream or any other dairy products.

A milk allergy is a common cause of eczema according to my doctor. He suggested that I try eliminating it from my son’s diet for a month to see if there was improvement. Then try reintroducing it to see if it worsened. Unfortunately for us that didn’t solve the problem and we still have no idea what causes it.

My 5 mo old son has been on a hypoallergenic (very expensive) formula since age 6 weeks due to a diagnosis of lactose intolerance and milk allergy/sensitivity. Now that he is on solids he seems to tolerate milk products well and I am attempting to change to a regular formula to save money. Has anyone else tried this? Been successful? Today he is getting half and half and seems to be doing fine. I know what to look for with the lactose intolerance, but the milk allergy diagnosis was shaky so I am not sure what to look for.
