My son has a dairy and a soy allergy, so I can’t use dairy milk or soy milk (or nut milks!). Almost every time I bake something and substitute rice milk for soy or dairy, the batter is very thick. Does anyone know the appropriate ration for substituting rice milk for soy or dairy when baking? Thanks!

When milk is pasteurized it kills all the beneficial nutrients and proteins in the milk. You end up drinking a lot of dead bacteria. All of the active enzyems of milk are gone making it some what foreign to your body and it doesn’t know how to process it. Try raw milk if you can find it on your area. Or try a mix of probiotics and kefier (a fermented yogurt that is VERY good for you) this will help restore your bodies good bacteria which you need for optimal health.
Soy inhibits your bodies ability to absorb protein.

My baby is coming up on 5 months. My baby is/ has been colicky, spits up frequently, sometimes 2-3 times after every feeding, violent explosive poops, green poop, slimy poop. She used to poop every other day, now she poops 5-6 times a day. I think it is diarrhea. How did you figure out it was a food allergy and what did you do about it?

hmm… interesting.. have you tried lactose free milk?
If that doesn’t help, then I would go see your doctor and get an allergy test done.

So I am going to start weaning my soon to be 1 year old. She has a lot of allergies ( flare ups) from different things I eat. I am tired of the guessing game. I don’t feel comfortable giving her cows milk because of her allergies. What is your take on goats milk instead. What do you know? Thanks. Also what about Lactaid? What is this?
