Question by sgalin40: Can I use whole milk instead of water to make my babies formula?
She will be 1 year old in March. She was a preemie (36 weeks) and has not been gaining weight well recently due to illness the last few months. I am looking for ways to get as many calories into her as possible. She is not a big eater and will only take about 15 ounces of formula a day plus solids. Any suggestions for weight gain would be great. Also she has food allergies and is allergic to eggs, oats and soy products.

Question by CLICK 2 $AVE!: Are people with “nut” allergies allergic to nutmeg, coconut and/or water chestnuts?
What’s the difference between “tree nut” allergy, “peanut” allergy and “nut” allergy? Thanks!

Answer by Chrys
water chestnuts are not a nut, they’re a root. (thats why they’re packed in water…) coconut is not a nut, it’s a fruit.
Peanuts are legumes. (same as a bean). Tree nuts grow on trees. (pecans, walnuts, almonds)
You can be allergic to SOME things, because of a certain enzyme in that thing. (sometimes you can eat it cooked, but not raw) it all has to do with peoples bodies and how they react to certain enzymes in food.
