Question by Bryce S: I want to hear some stories about shellfish allergies. How do you go through daily life?
Do you go to restaurants? or do you not risk going to restaurants? Do you carry an epi pen with you all the time? I would always go to restaurants, but now I am starting to rethink. I head hives when I was little to shrimp and crab, but never got anaphlaxis. When I smell seafood being cooked or in a grocery store it stuffs me up but no reaction. Can anyone relate? could I be highly allergic?

The next time you react, it could be deadly…you need an epi pen if you dont have one.
I have nut allergies, and I go out. Just avoid resteraunts that serve seafood and tell your waitress.

I have a severe allergy to tree nuts (cashews, walnuts, pecans, etc), but I am NOT allergic to peanuts. I have had an intense craving for peanuts lately, but it is very difficult to find peanuts that aren’t manufactured in a facility that also manufactures tree nuts. Peanut butter just won’t cut it. I guess what I need help with is finding peanuts that I can eat and are tree nut free! Help?!
To the second person- I can eat pretty much any peanut I want. I have had this allergy for a number of years and when I was younger than five I wasn’t allowed to eat peanut butter at all. Now, however, I can eat as much as I want without a problem. Today, for instance, I had almost a whole jar of peanut butter!
Okay, not a whole jar, but you get the point.
