Question by jaguling: What to feed toddler with milk allergy?
My 2 year old gets hives when she comes in contact with milk. I’m running out of breastmilk and she won’t drink soy milk either. What kind of liquid can we give her aside from juice so she will have enough calcium and vitamin D?

Rice milk is worth a try. There are also many cereal grain drinks available.

My daughter stayed on formula after one year old since she kept vomiting the milk we were giving her. She is now 22 months and I have just tried milk again and she does not vomit, so I really am anxious to get her on milk. BUT she has developed a runny nose and flemy cough. Could this be still the milk allergy? Has anyone else’s child had this kind of reaction when drinking milk? I’m hoping its just a coincidence with a cold or seasonal allergies.

I have a 15month old that is having a hard time going from formula to milk. I have tried mixing the two, but he KNOWS. He is now starting to look at the bottle when we give it to him and if it isn’t juice he will throw the cup down! I have considered the possiblity of milk allergy, but I think he’s just being stubborn. Any tips?

My 18 month old son has a severe milk allergy. If he ingests milk, milk by-products or any processed foods containing milk he is covered from head to toe in hives. I’m wondering if anyone (possibly in the same situation) has some suggestions on ensuring he gets the calcium he needs.
