Question by clf: Am I allergic to beer or is it just the taste?
I can drink all the hard liquor I want and not get sick. People tell me I have a very high tolerance for alcohol. However, I can drink a half a can of beer and instantly get sick. I am not allergic to wheat or yeast (i dont think because i can eat bread just fine). I have never enjoyed the taste of beer. Could it just be the taste that makes me so sick or would it be more likely to be an allergy? Anyone have any ideas?

It could be either. Have your doctor run some tests and do an analysis.

No, it isn’t. It may be that if you have eaten something before, the two tastes don’t go together, which is to do with your pallete. This is why the french have sorbet in between course, to cleanse the pallete. I hope I have helped you with your problem!

Question by Radar: Nuts leave a bad taste in my mouth and upset stomach?
About 20 years ago I discovered that I can not eat walnuts, pecans, almonds, cashews and and basically all other tree nuts. The nuts leave a really bad (sometimes metallic) taste in my mouth. Occasionally, I do not notice the nuts and they cause me throw up. This can happen with some desserts and sometimes soups that have shaved almonds. I can eat all the peanuts and pistachios without issue.
During a recent allergy testing for my other allergies the doctor told me they can test for allergies to nuts. When they did the skin test for allergies I did not react to any of the nuts. The doctor could not explain and said it may be more that I do not like them or that I ate a bad nut.
Does anyone else live with the same situation? Any suggestions!?

My youngest daughter has a milk allergy so I’ve switched the whole family to soy milk. I’ve heard many people say they use rice milk to cook.
