Question by J: I am allergic to milk. Do I need to take acidophilus?
I stopped eating milk because I was diagnosed with a milk allergy. I notice when I drink milk I get gassy and congested. So to me its not worth it. So after I stopped eating milk I noticed I thought I developed allergies. I asked a natural medicine person and she said I was probably low on acidophilus. She muscle tested me and I was really low on acidophilus. I started taking pro-biotics and it seems my allergies have gotten better. Do you think I just wasn’t getting enough acidophilus in my diet? I have heard that acidophilus regulates your nasal passage and mucous.

thanks

Question by R B: If the dark circles under your eyes are caused by a milk allergy, how long does it take them to clear up?

Best answer:

Answer by J
A couple weeks at the very most.
If you have a milk allergy, you’d probably have more than dark circles, which are more frequently caused by lack of sleep. Those with milk allergies usually break out in hives (at least), have vomiting fits, or trouble breathing.

Question by Chris: I have an allergy to iodine and I’m about to take a kelp (iodine rich) pill. Is it safe?
I was diagnosed with severe allergy to idonine many years ago. I’m about to take a kelp pill which is loaded with iodine and I want to know if it’s safe. I’m not trying to kill myself, quite the opposite read on:

BACKGROUND INFO: I am not allergic to shellfish (I can eat lobster, crab, sushi etc without problems). To the best of my recollection I never had an allergy to iodine (iodide?) ointment on the skin as a kid.

I was diagnosed with allergy to iodine following severe reaction after x-rays with contrast (iodine [iodide?] solution they made me drink)

At this point I bought kelp because I believe I have severe hypothyroidism due to my symptoms (even been in a coma recently) Doctors are no help because my tests for hypothyroidism come back normal. However if you google this seriously you’ll read that many people are critically ill with hypothyroidism but tests return false negative and then they die of a heart attack. (I found that over and over, different patient’s accounts, google it)

I believe that kelp might save me but I’m also kind of afraid. Your input appreciated if you’re an herbalist, N.D, decent doctor or a patient with the same predicaments as above. Please let me know from what experience you speak of.

PS: If I try it and don’t croak I’ll come back to post how it went, if anyone is interested that is
Ok. Y’all don’t have to be rude. They say that iodine is as essential to life as iron. BASICALLY: my guess is that the xray iodine must have been synthetic or chemically altered (hence the allergy) and no one can be allergic to pure element iodine just like you can’t be allergic to oxygen. Just a guess though, I might cut it in 8th and take a bit and see how it goes?

Question by Rachek: Does anyone else have a severe peanut allergy and know how to take good care of it.?
I have a very severe allergy to peanuts, if I eat one, my throat will close up if I do not use my epi-pen. Where this has never happened, I have had reactions to things that ‘may contain peanuts’ and are ‘made in a factory that processes peanuts’. Those reactions are not as bad, but my face swells up, my lips get all red and itchy, and usually it takes a couple days to recover. I made a mistake, because, while I was staying abroad, I tried a couple things that ‘may contain’ that I couldn’t have in the states, and I was fine, so it depends on the country, but now I have moved on to another country, and have been a bit cavalier and had something I shouldn’t have and are reaping the consequences: runny nose, itchy lips, swollen face.
Is there anything I can do, other than stop eating the stuff I’m not supposed to.
