Make sure there hasn’t been a recall on the milk. This happened to me once. I am a celiac who avoids dairy. I tried almond milk and never felt right. Went to the allergist and he told me I need to avoid nuts and a bunch of other things. You may have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds. It could be that it doesn’t agree with you while you are pregnant. When my mother, who can eat anything, was pregnant with me she couldn’t stomach to look at raw meat. I’ve never been a big meat eater.
I don’t think the baby needs milk. There should be another food or beverage that provides the necessary nutrients. Last summer I was put on neocate to gain weight. I had horrible headaches from the artificial sweeteners; but the point is there are other products out there that have all the amino acids a person needs.
I would recommend coconut milk if you can stomach that. There is also rice, hemp, oat, and goat milk. Goat milk shouldn’t bother you, and it shouldn’t smell.
Hope this helps.

Question by Josie: Why do I get sick only when I eat mussels?
Several years ago, I started feeling sick and throwing up if I ate mussels and figured that I’d developed an allergy towards them, since no one else who was eating them with me would get sick. What I’m wondering is if this is in fact a food allergy, and if so, why does it happen only w/ mussels? I can eat all other shellfish (and pretty much all seafood) with no problems whatsoever, be it raw or cooked. I feel fine if I eat something that has touched mussels or been cooked w/ them, i.e. paella, but if I actually eat one then I can expect to be throwing up an hour or so later. Wikipedia says a mussel is essentially a clam w/ an elongated shell, so why is that I can “regular” clams and not mussels?

Did you get a headache? It might just be food poisoning? Mussles are notorious for causing food poisoning and it isn’t because they are especially poisonous, just that they are sometimes poorly prepared and cooked. You have to let them sit in clean water for a day or so before cooking. This is because shellfish like mussles filter debris from the seawater and, let’s face it, there is sewage in seawater.
Letting them sit in clean water filters clean water through a mussel.
It may be possible to be allergic to one sort of shellfish.

Question by BRENDA S: Why do I get sick to the stomach if I eat popcorn or peanuts?
Everytime I eat popcorn or peanuts I get sick to my stomach and it is worse at night. No matter if it is one or twenty pieces. I do have acid reflux but it is controlled with Nexium. It has been going on since I had my son 5 years ago. Getting really tired of the feeling. Is it a food allergy?

Question by oatmeal55: Every time I eat meat I get sick to my stomach?
When I was a teenager it was just heavy red meat that made me sick. In my very early 20′s all red meat and chicken and pork made me a bit queasy. Now I can barely eat salmon and heavy fish without feeling ill. The only animal protein I can stomach lately is light white fish like cod and shellfish.
I am almost 23, female, and have no food allergies. I am pretty active and a healthy weight. I also have a really good appetite and usually can eat quite a bit of things like pasta and side dishes and desserts.
Why does the least little bit of meat make me feel ill?

Question by Emily R: Is this normal for allergy symptoms to worsen when I am sick?
I recently discovered I was allergic to wheat.
I started feeling so much better once i stopped eating wheat.
I haven’t eaten any wheat products at all, but I have been around wheat products lately. I have gotten my symptoms back (heartburn and tightness in chest) since. I am currently sick and that is when it started getting worse. Is it normal for my body to have symptoms back when I am sick?

When we are ill our body is fighting an infection and everything else seems worse – our defences are down.
Are you 100% sure you are allergic to wheat? It would make sense to go and talk to your doctor about this – make sure that the heartburn and tightness in your chest are definitely due to allergy, that there is no other contributory factor.
