Question by NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS: Does anyone have or know anyone who has really severe peanut allergies and how do you deal with it?
Hi does anyone know or have really bad peanut allergies? How do you deal with it? How do you avoid these foods where you go? Only a trace amount of a peanut or just something left on a surface can kill a person with a peanut allergy. It is very scary. Anyone can you help me I really would like some help with this question.

hi..i have severe peanut and all nut allergies. i deal with them by being careful with what i eat and checking the ingredients before i eat ANYTHING..even if it is something i have eaten before, the ingredients could have changed since the last time i ate it. i also make sure that if i am with someone who is eating any type of nuts and peanut butter i explain to them that i have allergies and ask them to please wash their hands. it means a lot when they do and i feel more comfortable and safer around them. if i am at a restaurant, i always ask what is in the food that i am ordering. it can be very scary, but it is easy to deal with after a while..i also carry my epi-pen and benadryl everywhere i go (:

Question by Rachek: Does anyone else have a severe peanut allergy and know how to take good care of it.?
I have a very severe allergy to peanuts, if I eat one, my throat will close up if I do not use my epi-pen. Where this has never happened, I have had reactions to things that ‘may contain peanuts’ and are ‘made in a factory that processes peanuts’. Those reactions are not as bad, but my face swells up, my lips get all red and itchy, and usually it takes a couple days to recover. I made a mistake, because, while I was staying abroad, I tried a couple things that ‘may contain’ that I couldn’t have in the states, and I was fine, so it depends on the country, but now I have moved on to another country, and have been a bit cavalier and had something I shouldn’t have and are reaping the consequences: runny nose, itchy lips, swollen face.
Is there anything I can do, other than stop eating the stuff I’m not supposed to.

Question by Kay08: How come every time I eat peanuts, a few hours later I have severe pains in my stomach?
It gets so bad I can’t even walk and want to scream. Would this be an allergy or something else? But only when I eat peanuts….?

You are probably allergic to peanuts and nuts and it causes a reaction in your stomach.

Question by Sara: How long do people with severe allergies live?
I work with children and we recently had a disscussion about some kids who can’t even be in the same room with peanuts or milk. So much so that even residue or the scent in the air will cause a serious attack. The nurse told us that with each exposure the reaction gets worse! Obviously it’s nearly impossible to avoid all contact with these foods. If each reaction gets worse, won’t the children eventually die from this? Is it typical for people with food allergies that are that serious to have shortened life spans?

I am so allergic to pollens that I had to go to the hospital for eating fruit that wasn’t washed off.
I plan to live a long time
