Question by stonewifey: My son is allergic to regular milk and I was wondering what brand of soy milk is a better alternative?
Yes I talked to his pediatrician but I would also like to hear from other mothers who have kids with allergies…like my little boobykins.
He was on Similac for 2 mths and his skin broke out badly. He’s been drinking good start soy and he’s been fine ever since but he’s 12mths now and he’s almost off the baby formula.

Is it an actual allergy (as tested by an allergist with a blood test or skin test) or just an intolerance?? Many times, with milk based intolerance, babies often can’t tolerate soy.

My DD had an intolerance to milk protein, and couldn’t use soy formula either. She was on Similac Alimentum for almost 10 months.

ETA: Sorry…I looked back and saw that you said milk, not formula. : )

Question by ??????? Asylum Escapee ???????: Why is it a bad idea to let a 3 MO. old drink regular milk?
In many other countries, there are no restriction when to feed your child anything.. my Husband has travelled the world as an USAF Pilot.. and shared this with me.

Have Pediatricians and Doctors come up with a reason why it is a bad idea, such as.. intolerance later in life, the proteins in milk or too much fat… I am sure the coagulation isn’t a reason.

Where are the facts showing this would cause allergies?
Just curious.

Question by Alllie Emm: How can i persuade my doctor to allow me to sit at a regular table?
I have a tree nut allergy so my doctor won’t let me sit at a lunch table at school with my friends because he thinks I will eat a nut. I tried telling him I sit all alone and that I won’t eat any other food but mine. Help!

My daughter is 1 yr old and had allergy testing. It came back she is slightly allergic to milk. So we have been introducing to her to soy with her formula, only 1 oz in each of her bottle and has been on it a week. Recently I had bought organic soy milk and after she had it last night she broke out in hives. How is organic soy milk different then regular soy milk for her to get a reaction like that?

His dr. said cheese is good, and he loves it, and he just had a small taste of cow’s milk – would it hurt him to have like a sippy cup of it every day? Or is it better to wait until he is one year, for allergy reasons?
