my 9 year old and I were told that she was allergic to wheat and milk and we need to cut it out of her diet and only eat it in moderation. she cheats and eats things like pizza and many other things and has no reaction. no complaints what is up does she really have an allergy

Look for a second and third opinion.

Food allergy seems to be the trendy thing to diagnose kids with…if it were so then she would have had a reaction to the pizza.

Hi, every time i drink chocolate milk i get this terrible pain near my heart and it moves from my back to my sides well for one thing i know its not one of my allergies or anything so whats causeing this i know like alot of people on here arent doceters or nothing but could you try to help
but i can drink regular and strawberry

You might be lactose intolerant… I have never heard of this before though. I feel bad for u I love chocolate milk

We have tried the plain yogurt and it made it worse. The only thing that seemed to help was boiled hamburger and rice. The vets are stumped and just want our $. We’ve had him only 2 weeks and he’s been seen twice for this. I think he may have wheat allergies from the nutro and the I have no clue about the Canidae lamb and rice but nothing seems to be working. Anyone who’s been through this please help.

try just rice for a bit. my dog can’t have even a little bit of meat because he gets the runs right away.

Hi does anyone know or have really bad peanut allergies? How do you deal with it? How do you avoid these foods where you go? Only a trace amount of a peanut or just something left on a surface can kill a person with a peanut allergy. It is very scary. Anyone can you help me I really would like some help with this question.

hi..i have severe peanut and all nut allergies. i deal with them by being careful with what i eat and checking the ingredients before i eat ANYTHING..even if it is something i have eaten before, the ingredients could have changed since the last time i ate it. i also make sure that if i am with someone who is eating any type of nuts and peanut butter i explain to them that i have allergies and ask them to please wash their hands. it means a lot when they do and i feel more comfortable and safer around them. if i am at a restaurant, i always ask what is in the food that i am ordering. it can be very scary, but it is easy to deal with after a while..i also carry my epi-pen and benadryl everywhere i go (:

3 years ago, I was completely crippled and bedbound. I had to wear braces on my hands. I was diagnosed with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, hidradenitis (boils) and many other things. I realized that I felt worse after eating certain foods. I had allergy testing done, and found out I was allergic to wheat, eggs, soy, commercial dairy, peanuts, tomato and avacado. Once I eliminated these allergens from my diet, I healed completely and all of my health issues resolved. I have cheated on my diet 5 times in 2 years, and all 5 times I ended up with horrible flare ups. As long as I stick to it, I am perfectly fine. I am convinced that undiagnosed allergies are the root of most illnesses. I do not take any supplements or medications. I wanted to pass this on to others who are suffering needlessly. I recommend keeping a food diary for a couple of weeks to see if your symptoms get worse after eating certain foods (free online diary at nutridiary.com) or get allergy testing done.
I hope this helps someone. I would have loved to have known this before I wasted 12 years in bed, in pain.
I realize this is not for cases for genetic illness, but many of the newer type diagnosis may benefit from this
I had standard skin prick testing done, then followed up with blood testing. Visit an allergist or consult your physician

Glad this helped you, but please don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s the answer for everyone with a chronic illness. Many of them are genetic and have nothing to do with food allergies.

How long was that factory in business selling tainted peanut butter? I mean, if you ate some and got sick you might have figured you have peanut allergy, right? How would you know the difference between peanut allergy and salmonella poisoning?

food allergy symptoms are very different from salmonella poisoning. food allergies cause anaphlactic shock. your mouth, tongue, or even throat swell, depending on how allergic you are. also, itching and rash might be present. salmonella poisoning will cause diareah, vomiting, painful stumach cramps, and all kinds of g.i. distress. vomiting is a symptom that your body wants to get rid of whatever it is NOW.

Milk is pasturized. Any germy things in it are killed off. I think the whole milk drinking/runny nose thing is a myth.

I am thinking about going to an allergist because I have eczema and have had a stuffy nose for months. I am willing to stick to a plan if they say I cannot eat wheat or orange juice or whatever it is. Please share with me what allergist’s do and if you’ve had sucess with a new diet.

I went to an allergist because I am a chronic sufferer of sinus pressure and swelling. I have a stuffed nose all the time, every day, every minute. No relieve ever unless i take OTC psudaphedrine meds. The allergy testing was long, fine for me, but may be a bit uncomfortable for some, so be prepared. They started with a scratch test, which consisted of the bottom half of both my arms they went down my scratching me with toxins that I may allergic to. The second phase was the top of both of my arms. These were injections…about 25 needles, but if you’ve had tatoos, its nothing. It was VERY helpful because I found out exactly what I was allergice to… Grass, oak trees, mold and ragweed. The mold allergies are all year around. I was perscribed Astalin, which helped greatly, until I moved and it suddely stopped working. I was switched to Nasonex and have been doing fine ever since. Some days I still need the added boost, so I bought an OTC nasal spray called 4-Way, it is THE best for a quick fix. I use it every once in a while before I sing at a gig and it works great, but you shouldn’t use it all the time…I also bought on Amazon a product calld Sinus Buster. It is basicly a pepper spray that you spray up your nose. And BELIEVE me , it works…and I can use it as I please because it’s all natural. It does burn a bit, but if you’re used to spicey food, it;s kind of a rush. Another thing is the Netti pot. A saline wash really helps clear stuff out before shooting my Nasonex. …..make sure your insurance is going to cover it though because I was stuck with a 0 bill becaue my insurance considered this part of my deductable…i had to pay out of pocket, but It was still worth knowning what I was fighting.
