So basically I can’t drink milk or else i break out like crazy. I can have every other dairy product( with a few exceptions) I can have like ice cream, yogurt and cheese. So it’s really just milk.
I started drinking soy milk a while back and it helped. I mean I still get pimples and stuff but I’m a teen so it’s normal but before it was like rashes and really bad acne and stuff.
It’s weird that it’s only milk though. People sometimes don’t believe me that I can’t have milk ( Adults mostly) So is this like rare or what?
Ever heard of it before? What causes it?

Mine is on Nutramigen Hypo Allergenic formula for this. She is 9 months old on the 7th. I was wondering if and when they grow out of it?
Her daddy gave her a yogurt juice yesterday, and she was fine, but I thought yogurt had cows milk in it? I’m confused..I take her next week to the pedi so I will ask then, just wanting your experience please. :)

I am 100 percent certain my 10 1/2 month old son is allergic to cows milk protein (among other things) we tried formula a few different times 2 of those time we ended up going to the hospital because he threw up, got all swollen and he started weazing and I just wanted to make sure his throat wasn’t going to close…. it didnt and he ended up being fine…. 1st reaction was from rice cereal that had milk powder in it that I didnt know about 2nd reaction I had no idea that he couldn’t tolerate milk and 3rd we tried lactose free formula only to find that kind has cows milk protein in it!
Anyways to sum it up I need to know what other formulas are out there for him because I need to ween him from breastfeeding soon and I also understand that 80% of babies allergic to cows milk are also allergic to soy… so are there any without soy milk? We will be seeing the doctor soon about this I just wanted others opinions on this matter!

My daughter developed pnuemonia after I introduced her to cow’s milk a few weeks back. My pediatrician wasn’t sure if it was triggered by the milk or not, or if it was a coincidence that they occured at the same time. I was instructed to give her formula until she was 100% better. I have done this. She is back to normal now. No wheezing or coughing. A few days ago I began to try to introduce the milk again. I started with 1/4 of the bottle being milk and the rest formula. She did fine. Now I’ve bumped it to 1/2 of the bottle milk. After about 1 hour of feeding her she woke up coughing and having the mucusy wheezing again! The doc said if it happened again we could try lactose free and if that doesn’t work maybe soy milk. Has anyone else ever experienced this? What type of “milk” did you end up giving your child? I also wondered if goats milk or rice milk would be another option. Also, her formula is a cow’s milk based, so why doesn’t that cause the same reaction?

Many who are allergic to cow’s milk can safely drink goat’s milk.
Goat’s milk tastes the same as cow’s milk, but is much easier to digest.
My family used to raise Nubian dairy goats. My father once gave some goat’s milk to a family whose child could not drink cow’s milk and he had no problem drinking goat milk.
Goat’s milk is available in most grocery stores now. You may want to talk to your doctor about goat’s milk.
