Question by Tara O: I am often congested – especially at night. I have never had allergies, but could it be due to an allergy?
I’m often congested. at night, I wear Breathe Easy strips on my nose and during the day, I blow my nose a few times every day. I have never had allergies and I’m not really taking any major medications. I’m 28 and am fairly healthy. someone yesterday talked about constant medication being possibly caused by a milk allergy. could this be in response to milk????
thank you for the replies so far! I actually started cutting out milk today, but boy is it hard!!! can I still take calcium tablets? someone mentioned that many tablets still have lactose in them. and does soy milk count as dairy, or can I have that? if milk surely is the problem.
the problem is during the day as well, I’m a little stuffy right now as a matter of fact! I don’t think it’s anything specific to my bed….although I’ll be more aware of that, since I never thought of it before!

Question by Annie: Mommy to Sid and Liz: How often should Newborns go to the Pediatrician?
I thought i had taken my, now a month old, son to a pediatrician at his 2 wk apointment but it turns out the Clinic we went to does not have and actual Pediatricians. I went to the clinic althrough out my pregnancy and knew that they saw children because i saw them in the waiting room. And i didn’t think twice that they didn’t want to see my son untill April, Now i’m not too sure and his starting to show his Father’s Milk Allergies. Should i find a pediatrician or what?

Any doctor is acceptable. Pediatricians simply see only children on a daily basis, but all doctors are trained in the care of infants and newborns.
You can continue to go to your clinic if you are comfortable with the care you receive there, your baby will be taken care of just the same there as at a pediatricians office. But, if you feel his care would be better at a pediatricians office then start asking local mom’s who they use.

I am temporarily feeding my infant soy formula for 3 weeks. Partly to check for a milk allergy but mainly so that I may take medication for my Crohn’s Disease. I plan to return to breastfeeding after I finish the meds. How often do I need to pump to maintain my milk. I have been getting about 6 pumping sessions in per day getting 4 ounces each time. My baby is almost 2 months. Is this enough pumping? My breasts seem to be keeping up so far. It’s been 3 days.
