Question by winkipinki: 1 year old with milk allergy although he’s had normal formula for whole life?
When I swtiched my son from formula to vitamin D milk he broke out in a rash and was super crabby. (he didn’t have any wheezing or swelling) But I still went ahead and switch him to soy milk. I’m just wondering how he could have an allergy to milk when he’s been drinking regular Enfamil formula for his whole life. (It has milk in it)
Or should I be looking for something else that could be giving him the rash? Although, I can’t think of anything else that he hasn’t had before that he’s had recently
To see pictures of the rash click the links below (it’s 2 pics that I uploaded to my photobucket)

Question by Mackie JcDonald, Resurrected Again: Is this a normal reaction to peanut butter?
The corners of the inside of my mouth tingle when I eat peanuts/peanut butter. I can’t eat too much at once or else the tingling feeling becomes really uncomfortable. I’ve always thought this was normal, but the other day I saw my mom eat a Reese’s cup really fast, and there’s no way I could do that without the feeling becoming too overwhelming to keep eating.
This has happened all my life, I’m 18 now. I don’t have any food allergies, but a peanut allergy does run in my family. Does anyone know what this is?

It could very well be an allergy.
You might have Arachibutyrophobia. I know it seems silly, but it is a real disorder.

Question by Spoiledbrat: My doctor did allergy testing on my 2 year old, is it normal to have to go in for results?
They called to say her results were in. But then they said we had to schedule an appointment in order to find out what she is allergic to. The soonest they said she could come in would be the middle of next week. Is it normal to make a parent wait. Could it mean it is worse than just a normal allergy? She had the blood test amd she was only going because we found that she is probably allergic to peanuts. I am really worried.

Question by Emily R: Is this normal for allergy symptoms to worsen when I am sick?
I recently discovered I was allergic to wheat.
I started feeling so much better once i stopped eating wheat.
I haven’t eaten any wheat products at all, but I have been around wheat products lately. I have gotten my symptoms back (heartburn and tightness in chest) since. I am currently sick and that is when it started getting worse. Is it normal for my body to have symptoms back when I am sick?

When we are ill our body is fighting an infection and everything else seems worse – our defences are down.
Are you 100% sure you are allergic to wheat? It would make sense to go and talk to your doctor about this – make sure that the heartburn and tightness in your chest are definitely due to allergy, that there is no other contributory factor.

Question by end is forever: Epipen expires after only 6 months, is this normal?
A few years ago I was diagnosed by an allergist as having an allergy to tree nuts. He prescribed me the Epipen.
Everytime I go to buy one, it seems that it only lasts about 6 months before it expires and I have to get a new one. Only once it lasted for 8 months before having to be replaced.
Are the pharmacists screwing with me? Are they giving me the soon-to-be-expired Epipens?
Is it possible to get an Epipen that lasts for a year or more?
What’s the average length of time your Epipen lasts for?
Thanks.

Medications should have a 2 year shelf life from the time you pick them up from the pharmacy. You pharmacist apparently is not going through enough of this particular medication and it is sitting on the shelf for a long time. Try a different pharmacy.
