Question by That Kid from summer school: Can you have allergies in the military?
Just wondering cause i have asthma, allergies to peanuts and other tree nuts. Also can i take my medicine in the military such as Zyrtec, singular and advair.
my asthma is allergically educed (not caused by sports or physical activity)

Sorry man, but if you are 13 or older and have asthma, you are automatically disqualified from joining.

What are the laws. I have allergies to tree nuts, and some of them are going away. I’m deathly allergic to sesame seeds hopefully these will go away soon.

i know the marines wont..but what about the national guard, coast guard, or air force??? and also..is it really hard to get a waiver for a peanut allergy??

This is just an informed guess, but I don’t think any of them will.
And it most likely is not in your best interest to be in the military with such a serious condition.

No, it wont keep you out of the military if you don’t tell them you have it. It wont show up in a blood test, and they’re not going to do a stool test for it. Eating in boot camp may be difficult, though. I wouldn’t risk it by telling them.
