Question by sgoodrich2: My english bulldog puppy is having really loose stools and gas w/Canidae and Nutro. What others are good?
We have tried the plain yogurt and it made it worse. The only thing that seemed to help was boiled hamburger and rice. The vets are stumped and just want our $. We’ve had him only 2 weeks and he’s been seen twice for this. I think he may have wheat allergies from the nutro and the I have no clue about the Canidae lamb and rice but nothing seems to be working. Anyone who’s been through this please help.

try just rice for a bit. my dog can’t have even a little bit of meat because he gets the runs right away.

Did you switch very quickly? In most cases, mucousy stools indicated stomach irritation. Whether this is an intolerance or an allergy must be determined by a doctor. I would call the doctor in the morning and see what they recommend.
Good luck!

My baby is 14 weeks old. I started out breastfeeding but I had to switch him over to Similac w/ Iron. His poop has never changed. It’s still kind of loose and he poops at least 5 times a day or more. He is gaining weight and has no other issues. Pedia says to leave him on it but I am paranoid because my other son has a milk allergy and was on soy. I don’t really want to switch my baby over to soy because that constipates but I just don’t think his poo is normal for a formula fed baby. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
