Question by SK: what do these symptoms sound like to you?
I thought I had chronic fatigue but then found out that wheat/gluten causes fatigue. I stopped eating gluten but whenever it finds its way into my diet I am bone tired/exhausted (like sleep 3 days straight) for about a week? allergy pills don’t help much at all (I don’t notice any relief)? does this sound like celiac or an allergy? thanks.

Question by paper_abby: What does a MILK allergy look like??? HELP, new mom and so confused.?
I am hoping someone can offer me some advice or help pls!! My baby is 8weeks old and has been on Similac Advance from the hospital on. He is gaining weight well and otherwise seems like a healthy baby.

BUT here is the part that I am so torn and confused about. I am at my wits end and so frustrated. Lately and actually as the weeks go on it seems like he is not doing so well on his formula. I am noticing the following:

Cramps as where he brings his legs up to his stomach
Constant hard farts but not constipated
Not finishing all his bottles and when he does finish he cries sometimes
Plus he is always, always fussy and fidgity.

WHAT is wrong?? Can someone pls tell me if it seems like he might have a milk allergy?? Do you think I should try Soy?? I mean this can not be right?

Any suggestions would be so helpful??
YES I would believe it could be an intolerance not an allergy as well. So would you think that switching to Soy would help then?

Also if I do switch him to Soy, later on in life he would be able to go back to Milk right, if he was allergic?
No he has never had bloody stools, and he did try the goodstart but it did not help either. If he has to “grow” out of this phase why would that be? Does anyone think that it could just be that?

Question by <3 Elayna’s Mommy <3: Does it sound like my daughter has a milk allergy?
My little one is 6 weeks old and we are transitioning her to formula from breast milk. When she was born they had to supplement my colostrum because she was not getting enough and they used Similac Advance. She did ok on that then other than the excessive spitting up. Once my milk came in she breast fed other than when my mom would let me sleep and she fed her with a bottle. She became very very fussy so we just stopped all together and I started pumping. I noticed when I drank a lot of milk she spit up a lot more of my breast milk than normal. Now we are trying to find a formula she can tolerate without throwing it all up. We have WIC and they started her on Good Start Gentle. That constipated her horribly, she spit up just about all of her bottle every time so we consulted with her dr and he suggested Enfamil AR. That worked for a few days and then she began the excessive spitting up and of course became constipated from the added rice starch. So a couple days ago my doctor told me to try Similac Sensitive for Fussiness and Gas. It’s a milk based formula but lower Lactose I believe and she did well on that for a couple days with no spit up then she started the spitting up again and here I am today wondering what to do. We see her doctor again tomorrow to consult about formula change again. Also, I took her a couple weeks ago because of a rash….she doctor said it was heat rash but she still has it and it’s definitely not baby acne. This is all over her chest and back and some on her face and her ears are extremely dry looking so my first thoughts were a milk allergy. Just wanting some opinions so I know what we may be looking at in the next few days. Does it sound like a milk allergy?? I know spitting up is normal, but what she was doing is not normal. Thanks in advance for your opinions!!!!
Also, for those wondering why I’m stopping breastfeeding, it’s due to her still spitting most of it up and me returning to work next week. I will not be able to pump due to my job and she never seems satisfied on it.

My son had a lactose intolerance to all formula so we had to put him on soy formula but he was doing alot more than spitting up he was having bad diarrhea. He had formula intolerance. she might have acid reflux due to spitting up. Normally if they have lactose intolerance they will have more problems than spitting up.

Question by beebs: I would like a vegetarian gravy recipe and recipe for veggie soup stock?
I made some using homemade veggie stock, but it didnt have the depth of flavor I wanted. I cannot use bullion, due to allergies to wheat, soy, eggs and dairy.
