Question by Shelly: Whay does lactose free milk make me sick?
Im currently 15 weeks, and I am lactose intollerant so I bought some Almond milk from silk. I cant have caregean that makes me have a headache so I purchased almond milk instead of lactaid. There isnt anything on the list that would make me sick, I am also wheat free. I got so sick after drinking almond milk. My baby needs the milk. What in the crap am I suppose to do? No matter if its lactose free or not it still has the same effects on my digestional tract. I am sooooooo sick of this. DO YOU THINK THAT COMPANIES LIE? maybe there isnt a way around milk allergies after all. Please help.

Make sure there hasn’t been a recall on the milk. This happened to me once. I am a celiac who avoids dairy. I tried almond milk and never felt right. Went to the allergist and he told me I need to avoid nuts and a bunch of other things. You may have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds. It could be that it doesn’t agree with you while you are pregnant. When my mother, who can eat anything, was pregnant with me she couldn’t stomach to look at raw meat. I’ve never been a big meat eater.

I don’t think the baby needs milk. There should be another food or beverage that provides the necessary nutrients. Last summer I was put on neocate to gain weight. I had horrible headaches from the artificial sweeteners; but the point is there are other products out there that have all the amino acids a person needs.

I would recommend coconut milk if you can stomach that. There is also rice, hemp, oat, and goat milk. Goat milk shouldn’t bother you, and it shouldn’t smell.

Hope this helps.

Milk contains lactose. You should avoid milk products. Try Lactose-free milk. You will feel okay after drinking it.

Question by mommy: reflux milk allergy or lactose intolarance?
my five month old was diagnosed as having reflux, even tho the gi x ray didn’t show anything…he’s on zantac and when he gains weight and needs a higher dosage…the acid starts burning his skin and he gets more miserable.

He is on alimentum for milk protein allergy, if he has milk formula he vomits extemely bad, gets diarrhea and passes out. Well he’s usually fussy a lot….he’ll play maybe a half hour then get fussy and tired, then I have to pretty much rock him to sleep for 30 to 45 minutes, he doesn’t show any signs of teething except for drooling and chewing, but there are no teeth visible. I’m just wondering if he could possibly be lactose intolarant instead of allergic….if you have a lactose intolarant baby…what signs did he show?
yeah he did the waterfall puke too…but also cannot have soy, it breaks him out into a rash, and constipates him soo bad he bleeds and

all I know is that when I stopped breastfeeding I gave my baby boy (hes 10 now) a bottle of milk formula, and wow he was sitting up and he threw it up like a water fall. It was amazing, never seen that before so, I told the doc he said baby was allergic, (sines I was also when I was a baby) they said he was also, so he took SOY FORMULA and that did it, he was fine after, and he never was allergic again. so who really knows what happened, but I would defiantly take the doctors advice, or get another opinion from another one. Question by Orviston, PA: Am I Lactose intolerant??Milk Allergy?? Can’t drink pasteurized milk but can drink…?
I can not drink regular pasteurized milk (No matter what kind-whole,1%,2%,skim,non-fat). I can however drink Half & Half, whipping cream & canned evaporated milk. I actually like drinking these they taste good to me and they don’t turn my stomach or make me sick.
I have weak stomach in the morning. But no matter what time of day I drink pasteurized regular milk, the milk is coming up. Occasionally in the evening I can have a bowl of cereal with just enough regular milk to barely wet the cereal. With out getting sick. I also can eat all cheeses too with out getting sick.
Is this a milk allergy?Lactose problem or what?
I haven’t tried the lactose free milk because I didn’t want to spend that much money to find I can’t drink it.
It really isn’t that I don’t like it. I do like the chocolate milk and do drink the regular as well. Just in a short period of drinking it comes back up. I never had aproblem with milk as a teenager. I’d drink a half gallon at one time.

I drink the other milk products so I can get some calcium in my diet. Yes, I am paying .00 for half gallon of Half & Half where I live.

idk if there’s a such thing as being “half lactose intolerant” but I kinda have the same problem. I can eat anything dairy but I can’t eat anymore than 2 bowls of cereal because the milk will make my stomach hurt. We drink drink whole milk. The kind with the red top.
