Food Allergies Treatment

Question by Ladies man 09: Do you think I will get sworn into the Mare Corp?
I went to a recruiter April 16th of this year I just went to M.e.p.s like 3 weeks ago to take the Asvab and the physical, duck walk and what not, aced all of those, did not swear in because of my allergy to shellfish, they had to get a medical waiver and send it to the department of medicine, and they are waiting on them to apporve it so that I can join. I even had a Gunnery Sargent, and Major! from the Virginia that were in ohio where I live for a few days tell me themselves that I would get in this month, but it has almost been a month and my Staff Sgt recruiter said I would be sworn in by the end of August at the latest well August is here

Thanks every1 for your answers, and I did not mean to misspell “Marine” it was an accedent. I do not know how to resolve my question or chose best answers or anything, because ive searcher the page and looked for how to do it.

I was denied due to an allergy to shellfish, if i don’t mention any of that info will i be able to successfully apply and make it into the Navy?

If, and I bet it was, the info got to MEPS and they DQ’d you there, then they will still have that in your files even if you try through the Navy.

My peanut/tree nut allergy is life-threatening, and I’m afraid I wouldn’t know what to do if I ever go into anaphylaxis at school. My teachers are aware of it, but I haven’t had a reaction since I was two, and then, I was close to death in minutes.

My guess would be, if it were to happen, it would happen at lunch, where sometimes people eating PB&J are sitting two people down from me. Should I go to the office which would give me my EPIpen, but sometimes people aren’t there, which would be wasted minutes. I know how to use an EPI pen, but I remember when I was younger and had a reaction, I was shaking badly and my mjom said if I ever had a reaction, don’t use the EPIpen by myself.

&you sit by people you know&TRUST? if so, tell them about the pen and where it is, and what to do if you DO have a reaction.

We are travelling to Croatia and need a very accurate translation card to hand to waiters/chefs/shops to let them know that our daughter has a life-threatening allergy to nuts, particularly peanuts. We need to emphasise that it needs to be taken seriously. We also need to know how to ask for medical attention and an ambulance. Advice on any national dishes to avoid would also be very gratefuly received…Thank you!
