Question by wishnuwelltoo: Can you help with recipes or information on food allergies?
My friend has a 1-year-old son who has food allergies. He is allergic to wheat, soy, dairy, nuts, sesame. He can have eggs though. I am looking for recipes for him or information, sites, links on food allergies. She would like to make him chicken nuggets, I would assume with rice flour, and some sugar cookies, I would assume with rice flour. Any help and suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. Please don’t give rude answers. Thanks in advance!!!!!

2 eggs, beaten, or equivalent replacement
5 cups flour (divided)
1 cup buttermilk or dairy-free milk alternative, soured with 1 tsp vinegar
2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

•Instructions

Mix together butter or margarine, sugar and vanilla. Add beaten eggs. Alternately add the buttermilk, 2 1/2 cups flour, baking soda and baking powder. Stir in additional 2 1/2 cups flour.

Chill well.

Roll out on a floured surface and cut out. Sprinkle tops with sugar (or colored sugar, sprinkles, etc).

Bake at 350 °F for 8-10 min depending on size.

This could be worth adding as a Bookmark or send to your friend. It may be worth registering for far more.
I didn’t look to see if it costs to register, but there are numerous free recipes.

Good luck

Question by sassash: Can you give me a link to a website that has information on starting a dairy free diet?
We just found out that my husband and 22 month old daughter have milk allergies. My husband cut dairy out of his diet a few weeks ago and has felt a lot better. Before I cut dairy out of my daughter’s diet I would like to get more info on eating dairy free.

Question by Happy: Does anyone have any information on food allergies and behavioral disorders?
My daughter goes through periods where her behavior is just off. She can be hyperactive, defiant or distracted. She always has little dark circles under her eyes but it is more pronounced during these periods. I would like to do some research into food allergies but there is a lot of information out there and I do not know where to start. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could offer.

She is 3 years old and I am aware of an allergy to Septra and she is not able to drink whole milk.

Food allergies definitely affect kids’ behavior. A good starting place might be to cut out any artificial flavors and colors from her diet. This is a good website to start of your research:

Question by Melon: I have an allergy to Barley Grass and Barley Wheat, can anyone help me find any information?
Think I said it all, I have an allergy to Barley grass and Barely wheat, if I eat/drink either I get an very itchy mouth, throat then very sick for a time – varying on how much I consume. A bottle of one of those “super foods” drinks will make me sick for anything up to two weeks – vomiting and such. If anyone can provide any information I’d be very grateful – links to sites etc.. or any advice for how to deal with my allergy if I accidentally consume some.

i would suggest that you visit a nutritionist. he or she will look to the root of your problem instead of trying to mask the symptoms like conventional medicine tends to do.

you will get personalized tips on things you should eat, and how you can manage your allergy.
