For moms who are dealing with this… how far do you go on cutting out milk from your diet? Do you still eat breads and such that have small traces of milk products in the ingredients? Do you switch to vegan baked good, or will that small amount of powdered dry milk in cakes and such be okay? What about things like mashed potatoes? This is a staple in my family, and you need some source of liquid, be it butter or milk or whatever… Where do you draw the line?
I don’t want to hurt my baby and I would give up any foods for her, but I need to know if trace amounts are okay. Does heating/baking the milk help it at all?

What are the symptoms? I am not breastfeeding but I have used the similac soy formula and now i am using the ailmentum. my baby is sooo cranky and gassy and spits up frequently. i stopped giveing her solid foods like peaches and prunes and bananas, she is old enought to have those..she is five months now…i just dont know if she has a milk allergy. i know something is wrong. i am taking her to the dr. on wed. but i need to know some of the symptoms of allergies in babies so i can sound like i know what i am talking about instead of an over anxious first time mom. can you be specific like what is the baby’s body language like etc.??? thanks so much!!

MY BABY IS 6 WEEKS OLD. I STARTED FEEDING HIM ENFAMIL (LIPIL) FORMULA. AND HE STARTED TO GET VERY FUSSY, GASSY AND HAS A RASH IN HIS FACE AND BACK OF HIS HEAD. HE SEEMS TO BE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.. I TALKED TO HIS DOCTOR AND HE SAID TO TRY ENFAMIL GENTLEASE.. IT KINDA HELPED THE GAS, BUT NOTHING ELSE AND NOW HIS BOWEL MOVEMENTS ARE DARK GREEN.. AND HE IS STILL VERY FUSSY. HE CRIES VERY LOUDLY ALL OF A SUDDEN. . SO I AM WONDERING COULD HE HAVE AN ALLERGY TO COW’S MILK??

some babies i have read on the internet get allergic reaction if mother is taking cows milk but i have not heard anyone talking about it in india. everyone is pushing the lactating mother to have more and more milk. even doctors never mention it here and i have asked quite a few. i was wondering if this symptom for some reason is prevalant only in western countries or the doctors here are not informed enough?
