Question by Isis hear my plea: Is it possible to grow out of a peanut allergy?
I had a reaction to peanut butter when i was young, luckily i survived :/, when i was about 4 or 5, we were overseas and a lady fed me peanut crackers without knowing i had an allergy, my mum panicked, but nothing happened, no reaction at all, when i was about 9, a boy brought in these peanut truffles for his birthday, i ate it without knowing, i had a a bit of a weird taste in my mouth and throat but no serious reaction.. Even today, i always eat products that may contain traces of nuts, i’m not really careful, but if someone offered me raw nuts straight up or food that contained them, i wouldn’t take eat it just to be safe, so, do you think i’ve grown out of my nut allergy? or maybe im allergic to some peanuts not all, idk, what do you think?

yes it is possible only because your body my body and everyones body is always changing and never staying the same, you see you can get a reaction from something you never got one before and the vise versa is possible, it is however not recommened that you test this out on youself, instead go to a dr. and have them do a controlled test and see, it is better that way because you only get such a small portion it doesnt hurt you, plus you are under dr’s care at that time

What do you think? Answer below!

It is very possible to grow out of an allergy. In fact many people don’t get an allergy till they are adults. I used to be very allergic to milk from the time I can remember till I was about 16, then my body started getting less, and less severe reactions from it. Now I’m in my 20s and can have as much milk as I desire. You may only have a slight allergy to nuts now, but until you get your test results back you wont know for sure. Just know that it can go away in time, especially if you keep yourself healthy.

Question by life beyond yur wildest dreams: Can you grow out of Allergy? My husband has been allergic to shellfishes…?
ever since he could remember. once he almost died because there was shrimp in his jambalaya. since being married to me, (i’m asain), i know there’s shrimp, or the flavoring…and he eats it and he’s fine…is it because he’s not eating the shrimp or lobster and its for the flavor? how do we check without him having to end up in the hospital?
the only reson i ask is because like i said since being married to me…he’s eaten small amounts of shellfish in the seasoning…for example…in kim-chee, a popular korean side dish, one of the ingredients is tiny baby shrimp thats benn marinating in a salty base. he’s also eaten soups with large shrimp in the soup…(taken out of course) anyhow…if he’s allergic to shellfish…why is he able to eat oysters, and mussels??

is the flavor real or artificial? He could go the doctor and have a test done to see if he is still allergic. I know many people who grow out of them but never a food allergy before. I say be careful and to sak a doctor.

around age 5, but she never developed the enzymes to digest it. she can eat Activa yogurt & that’s it. my allergy has worsened with age to the point of anaphylaxis.
