That because once he touches that dairy, he sets off an instant reaction through his body. He needs the oxygen because there is a sudden upsurgence on his body’s energy, suddenly, he is working harder to breath, his heart is beating faster to get blood moving around, he skin is reacting to the dairy with hives or welts…there is suddenly so much else going on that he is using more oxygen than normal to react…get it?

my 1 month old was showing signs of a milk allergy so our pediatrician had us swich to a soy based formula to help with everything. she can burp easier now, is a lot happier, sleeps quietly at night now without the grunting, and no longer been projectile puking. It has only been five days though. but since we changed the formula she has had severe diarhea that is really mushy and god awfully smelly. is this normal for an infant to go through during the transition of switching formulas?

i think you mean desensitize… if the kid is allergic to milk there is really nothing you can do about it. don’t give him milk or any kind of milk products (cheese, cream, butter). try soy milk or rice milk if you feel like you need to give him milk. otherwise, you are going to make him really sick.

My baby is still drinking from a bottle. He also has been on soy formula, though he was not officially “diagnosed” as having a milk allergy.

My son is 10 months old and is starting on milk because he is refusing formula now. He had and might still have a milk allergy. We are trying him on Silk Soy milk but it is not going well. I think hes simply doesnt like it cold straight from the fridge. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get him adjusted to drinking cold liquids. He’s use to tap water at room temp.
