Make sure there hasn’t been a recall on the milk. This happened to me once. I am a celiac who avoids dairy. I tried almond milk and never felt right. Went to the allergist and he told me I need to avoid nuts and a bunch of other things. You may have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds. It could be that it doesn’t agree with you while you are pregnant. When my mother, who can eat anything, was pregnant with me she couldn’t stomach to look at raw meat. I’ve never been a big meat eater.

I don’t think the baby needs milk. There should be another food or beverage that provides the necessary nutrients. Last summer I was put on neocate to gain weight. I had horrible headaches from the artificial sweeteners; but the point is there are other products out there that have all the amino acids a person needs.

I would recommend coconut milk if you can stomach that. There is also rice, hemp, oat, and goat milk. Goat milk shouldn’t bother you, and it shouldn’t smell.

Hope this helps.

Question by Natalié Van Hildenberg: does gluten & wheat free diets get rid of phlegm.?
for a few months now I have been coughing up clear phlegm… It started getting worse with bigger chunks coming up and a constant feeling of phlegm in my throat with my nose feeling constantly stuffy. I always feel like I have to cough every 2 seconds and blow my nose. I had some kinesiology allergy tests done and it showed up that I was sensitive to wheat , dairy products & potatos. I was advised to go on a wheat & gluten free diet and cut out the dairy & potatos all together. I was just wondering if anyone else had a problem with phlegm and this sort of diet helped to shift it? Also in the morning my chest feels congested when I first wake up. I have mild asthma but the doctor’s are persistant in saying that this is not asthma related. I have even been told to come off my inhalers by the asthma clinic but I cannot seem to manage it. Replies will be appreciated.
p.s I have been to different doctors had 3 courses of antibiotics and it did not lift. The phlegm is clear so it is not an infection.

I think you’ll find your diet will help. My thing was milk. When I quit it took a few weeks but it worked.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Question by lstone4132: Wheat/gluten free foods?
I am having a friend over and she is allergic to wheat and gluten. I am trying to figure out something we can have for dinner and maybe as a desert so I was wondering if you could list some good foods/meal ideas that I could choose from as options as I have no idea what she can eat because I don’t have this allergy. Any help is appreciated :)

There are a bunch of options. Check with your local grocery store to see what kind of gluten-free dinners/cooking options they have before you settle on a dinner choice.

Question by Worshipful Heart: allergy free pumpkin muffins?
does anyone have a good recipe for allergy free pumkin muffins?

they cannot contain wheat, corn, eggs or dairy

I am trying this recipe right niw but the batter came out very thick, almost like cookie dough- I have never made any kind of muffins where the batter was so thick so I am concerned they will not come out right.

If you have a recipe that you have tried and like – I would greatly appreciate the help- or if you are a gluten free, allegy free whiz in the kitchen and you want to help me to doctor this recipe a bit, I would appreciate that too!

My son made some peanut butter muffins for the fair one year and they were very thick. They tasted fine they were just a very very heavy muffin. Good luck!
