Question by the_girl_collector: Has anyone found that they develop a migrane shortly after eating Subway sanwhiches?
I have heard a rumour that Subway doesn’t use natural flower but something else. I have been suffering terribly from migranes and trying to get to the dietary source of the problem. At first, I thought it might be the nitrates in sandwhich meats, but have found that I still get migranes if eating tunafish from Subway. So I am thinking I might have a “wheat” allergy.

Now you might ask, why do I eat as Subway if I get migranes? Because I noticed the pattern and am now trying to settle on the source. I get migranes outside of eating as Subway, also when eating meats and bread… anyway, any thoughts?
Yes, I am aware it is “flour” not flower, but I was typing quickly. Thanks for the responses so far. As for the taco bell comment, if you do the research you will find that they create their own flour for their bread, in order for it to have a certain consistency of size, texture etc…

Glutten is somthing to consider.

I sure hope Subway doesn’t use ANY “flower” in their subs.

If I got a migraine after eating, I would keep a journal and write down EVERYTHING that I had eaten prior to the onset of the migraine. After a month, I would find the common denominators and start narrowing it down like that.

Question by Susan S: I’ve been eating peanut butter, dairy, eggs… I also breast feed. Will my DD get an allergy?
My daughter is 4 months old. Someone I know discovered the peanut butter she was eating caused her son to get a peanut allergy. So far, DD has no allergies. Neither me nor my husband have food allergies. Will eating peanut butter cause an allergy in my daughter? Or any other food, for that matter?
Obviously, I didn’t realize eating these foods could cause problems. I thought they were to be avoided only if allergies run in your family.

My ped. told me to eat whatever I wanted. I did, and my daughter has no allergies that I am aware of.

You can spend your whole nursing relationship fretting about what you eat. Just eat healthfully and drink enough water and you will be fine!

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Ali: 13 year old daughter has an eating disorder?
I have so much on my plate and I can’t deal. Separately, each problem would be hard, but together it’s horrible!

First, my daughter has an eating disorder. Not too serious, but we’re going to nip it in the bud. This won’t be hard to get through. She’s already started eating “safe foods” again like celery, Jell-O, carrots, and peanut butter. Not all at once, but a little here and there,

The next issue is my children’s allergy problems. We have 5 daughters. The oldest (13) is allergic to shellfish. My next (7) is allergic to all types of nuts. Then we have my another (5) who is lactose, however takes daily pills to cure that. Finally, my 17 month old got tested for a dairy and egg allergy. I’m stressing about those results.

Probably the worst is that my friend is dying of cancer. She most likely won’t live 3 more months. She has no living family whatsoever. Even on her husbands side (husband passed away in a car accident). She asked me to raise her 3 children who she will leave behind. Of course, we had to say yes after discussing it with my husband, children, and even my extended family.

I need help, tips, just someone to talk to. Any one have suggestions??
Thank God we discussed this today. She does have life insurance so I will be able to take care of them. Plus she’s leaving money to me (which will go towards the children).

Question by asimenia: Spots after eating prawns, allergy?
I have noticed that after I eat prawns I breakout in small white blister type spots is this to do with the shellfish? Is this a typical reaction if there’s an allergy involved. Normally when I go out to eat shellfish – I am usually going over the top in other areas (late night / alcohol / fish / smoky atmosphere (I don’t smoke but we live in Greece …)
If any one has suffered this please let me know. The spots where the worse where I had had waxing on my upper lip a few days before … no lady moustach but a nice line of blister spots! A girl can’t win!

That’s why I am asking as I wasn’t sure – I thought it was to do with late nights/alcohol and other things – I’ve only just put two and two together…… and I ADORE prawns and live by the sea in Greece!

You are allergic to prawns. Don’t eat them and get allergy tested for other types of fish. Shellfish are not the only fish to cause allergies as you have discovered with the prawns.
