Question by Spoiledbrat: My doctor did allergy testing on my 2 year old, is it normal to have to go in for results?
They called to say her results were in. But then they said we had to schedule an appointment in order to find out what she is allergic to. The soonest they said she could come in would be the middle of next week. Is it normal to make a parent wait. Could it mean it is worse than just a normal allergy? She had the blood test amd she was only going because we found that she is probably allergic to peanuts. I am really worried.

I know a lady who was allergic to dairy products and wheat. She found out about it after many years of trying to figure out what her problem was. From what she told me her brother had the same problem. Which tells me that it is passed on in the family. I lost contact with her otherwise l get you to together. Good luck.

Question by Ana: how do doctor measure a scale of 0-4 for peanut or allergy skin test? What does each number mean?

Best answer:

Answer by ChemoAngel
The higher the number the more danger you are in. If you are at a 0 or 1, you can quite possibly still eat them in moderation, 2 and above are a no-no.

Question by sexymama: Serious only, my doctor said hard cheeses can be eaten with a milk allergy. If so, what specific ones…?
My son just got tested and has milk allergies, he was being cranky and wanted to leave and the doctor said something about hard cheese, he could have. I’ve looked on the net and found nothing. Doctor out of town. My son wants some cheese, is there any safe?

Best answer:

If he has a milk allergy and not lactose intolerance, there is NO cow cheese he should eat– not even the hard ones.

My kids are allergic to cow’s milk, so we get goat cheese or sheep’s cheese at Trader Joe’s.
