Question by soccerchick: What foods can I eat to follow my diet?
My doctor has advised me to go on a two week diet eliminating all possible food allergies consisting of wheat, corn, bananas, eggs, seafood, and legumes. As you can see this cancels out many foods, but I have to eat something over the two weeks. Please I need food suggestions.

it depends on your body it may be just a matter of a few days before it starts helping you – you can be tested for a gluten tollerance testing – see an allergist to be sure thats what it is

Question by sassash: Can you give me a link to a website that has information on starting a dairy free diet?
We just found out that my husband and 22 month old daughter have milk allergies. My husband cut dairy out of his diet a few weeks ago and has felt a lot better. Before I cut dairy out of my daughter’s diet I would like to get more info on eating dairy free.

Question by jenn_acts2:38: Wheat, corn, soy, and peanut free diet?
We found out today that my 8 yr old daughter has some pretty significant allergies to wheat, corn, soy, and peanut(She had NO reaction to egg, milk, or tomato). I’m kind of at a loss as to what to feed the poor girl!! :) Any suggestions on literature, cookbooks, websites, etc available that have been helpful to you would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the doctor is recommending allergy shots with a 3 to 5 year commitment. Has anyone had success in treating their allergies with the shots???

Thanks!!!

Doctors are only human don’t forget. Not all,of them know everything. A second opinion always helps. Sometimes everything is not as it seems. I never trust any of them anymore.. Ask someone else.

Question by CallmeLizza S: Is my diet very flawed?
Please critique anything about my diet that you think is unhealthy. I am an open minded person and enjoy other views and opinions.

I eat no grains, no dairy, no forms of sugar including very little fruit, and barely any pork. I also avoid all forms of hydrogenated or modified oils. & no nuts(allergy)

I only eat wild seafood(on a daily basis) ex. mackerel, salmon, sole, and the like. I eat shellfish and crustaceans on occasion. I eat grass fed beef or when only grain fed is available about once a week. I eat chicken almost daily(hormone+antibiotic free) mostly legs, I also eat other forms of white meat on occasion ex. turkey, rabbit, lamb etc

I eat all vegetables except for potatoes because I hate them.

I also eat very very little fruit.

Room for improvement..? How does it sound?

You may want to fit more Calcium, Potassium, and Vitamin C in your diet.

Do you like cheeses? Yogurt? Try to fit at least one fruit in your diet, like orange (vitamin c) or bananas (potassium).

If you don’t like any of those I would reccomend you buy One A Day, or One A Day Women’s (if you’re female). They’re multi-vitamin and mineral supplements that give you everything you need in a day to stay healthy and keeps your diet on the right track.
