His dr. said cheese is good, and he loves it, and he just had a small taste of cow’s milk – would it hurt him to have like a sippy cup of it every day? Or is it better to wait until he is one year, for allergy reasons?

Your baby has already been exposed to milk through cheese and yoghurt so whole milk should not have a too strong of a reaction on her if she eats the other foods just fine.
The color of poop does not mean anything unless it’s red (direct quote from parents magazine) if there is mucus in the poop or diarrhea then your little one had a reaction to the milk. Consider postponing the introduction for another few weeks/month. Also purchase organic milk.
Symptoms of milk allergy:
Skin reactions:
Immediate rash around the mouth.
Swelling of lips, mouth, tongue, face or throat.
Generalized eczema on the trunk.
Eczema behind ears and in body creases, such as neck and elbows.
Scaly skin on cheeks, cradle cap.
Dry skin or skin cracks e.g. bottom of the ear lobe, corner of the eye.
Persistent diaper rash.
Hives.
Itchy red rash.
Allergic “Shiners” (black eyes).
Watery or itchy eyes.
Nose, throat and lungs reactions
Runny nose (clear, watery).
Stuffy or blocked nose, causing difficulty with feeding (breast or bottle).
Sneezing.
Itchy nose.
Persistent cough.
Wheezing or shortness of breath.
Stomach and bowel reactions
Abdominal pain and bloating.
Cramps.
Vomiting.
Excessive gassiness, passing wind.
Diarrhea (loose runny stools), mucous or blood in motions.
Failure to gain weight or weight loss.
Behavior
Pulling away from or refusing the breast or formula.
Irritability or unsettled behavior.
Poor sleep patterns.

Hi, I’m breastfeeding our 3.5-month-old girl & I feed her about every 2.5 hours. At night, I feed her upon waking. But, after about the 4a or 5a or 6a feeding (depending on when the last feeding was), she twists and turns and pulls up her legs. I know it’s stomach cramps. And they seem to last until about 8a or 9a or 10a, and then she’s fine for the rest of the day. And yes, they do seem to abate when I feed her, but they certainly disrupt her sleep. To clarify, she is NOT screaming or crying when she has these cramps (she doesn’t have colic), just grunting and groaning. I can usually let her lay there & work it out for awhile, but she will work up to A scream, then I pick her up & try to burp & feed her. After that, if I lay her down, the cramps start up again. I have eliminated much from my diet, but not cow’s milk yet, should I try Soy milk? Or, could it be that I just have to be sure she burps when I feed her at night. … I’m a new mom. … Anyone else experience this?

Did you breastfeed and make all of the necessary eliminations from your diet or did you use formula? How long (how old was the baby) was it before he/she outgrew the allergy? I’ve been breastfeeding for 5 months, he has a CMP allergy. I just weaned him and now regret it, wondering if there was something else I could have done, I had already for the past 3 months eliminated from my diet anything w/ CMP in it …but it seems like he became sensitive to everything I eat, that’s why I did it. He was in pain and is much better since we switched to formula. Anyway, I’m thinking maybe I could have done something different. I miss nursing him, eventhough it has only been about 4 days since I stopped. I hate doing the formula thing…I find it a real pain in the a**, and I know that breastmiulk is better. what to do?
