Question by irasyazreen: recipe for toodler with cow’s milk allergy.?
hye. i have an one year old son who is allergy to cow’s milk since he was one month old, that mean he cannot consume anything that contains diary products such as yogurt, cheese, butter, etc. but he can handle soy milk as my doctor suggested it and he seems to have no problem with soy milk.
i always seek for healthy recipe for my son as i didnt like to buy baby’s food in a jar because most of them contains diary products. But the problem now is, many of the recipe that i found also included ingredients such as butter, heavy cream, cheese and yogurt. do u guys have any other recipe that do not contain any of these ingredients.?
i desperately need your help. i want my son to grow up healthy like others.

Best answer:

Answer by Indumukhi
substitute
olive oil for butter ..or get margarine made with flax seed oil
use soy creamer for cream( like the one for coffee)
you can always find soy cheeses (check for casein free soy cheeses)
soy yogurt too
find a natural food store near you
they can help you out

Question by Aubrielle’s mommy: Is it possible my baby has a cow’s milk allergy?
My daughter is 5 months. She has always been a VERY fussy baby. I love her, but sometimes i feel like i’m going crazy. She was exclusively breastfed until 2 weeks ago. She has her good days where she’s pretty content but then she has EXTERMELY fussy days where she just screams her head off. I recently put her on formula and she was doing really good for a few days then today she had one of her “screams her head off most of the day” days. She also has eczema that I have a hard time getting rid of. Anyways, my question is, could all of this fussiness and eczema be related to her having a cows milk allergy? I never cut dairy out of my diet…I never really thought to until i read an article right now about the allergy. and the formula she is on right now is Goodstart gentle which is made from cows milk. She isn’t fussy like this EVERYDAY so if she did in fact have a cows milk allergy would her fussiness be daily or would it come and go as hers does?

I’m just trying to find an answer as to why she has such bad days sometimes. It breaks my heart cuz i just don’t know what to do anymore.

thanks everyone

Best answer:

Answer by kenleigh is here!
look for other signs like throwing up, unusual red “circle” like rash around her anus, and if shes breaking out anywhere but her face.

its possible she could just be adjusting to formula…i would call the doctor though just to be sure.

My toddler suffer’s severe allergies and I’m going crazy not knowing what to give her. I cannot give her cow and goat milk because she is allergic. Can’t give her almond milk, because she is allergic to nuts. Rice milk lacks a lot of vitamins and nutrients. I’ve been hearing so many bad things about soy, and she has been drinking that now. I am just terrified of all the negative research on soy. I do not know what to do. Please if someone can really help, I would love to hear your answer!

Answer by dicky d
it sounds as if there may already be a fungal overload due to lack of immune sys balance of good bacteria.a good (probiotic or prebiotic)helps restore the digestive flora.only organic grass fed animal milk should be used anyway, raised without anti-biotics or growth hormones as that gets passed on into the milk etc from that animal and totally wipes out all the good digestive bacteria resulting in all sorts of med problems to us all inclu indigestion/allergies.look up rejuvelac and probiotics for health.ever tried coconut milk.

hi Ladies my son has a cows milk protein allergy i have cut out all dairy, wheat, soy and beef which was advised by the pediatrician ( been doing this for about 3 weeks now) so no other allergy’s come out! he was on breast milk but was very gassy, fussy and would cry while feeding him we changed him back to formula which he has been on for four days he is doing much better! i spoke to my family doctor today he suggested i keep pumping and maybe use the milk when he is a few months older( hes a 32 week preemie) just wonder if i should keep pumping or just leave it there will still be a chance he cannot have the milk?? has anyone else done something like this how did it turn out… or should i just let myself dry up??

Thank you!
He’s on liquid Nutramigen

My kid was introduced to cows milk at 16 months of age in jan 2010…. He didnt have any problem then. But in Feb 2011, he started getting bouts of cough with phlegm…Its been repeating on a very frequent basis. Some one pointed it could be allergy to cows milk… But he didnt have any issues last year… Could it be cows milk allergy? he started going to pre school in april 2011…Im not sure what is the cause… How can I test it? He loves cows milk… and doesnt like to add anything to it nor like any other substitute … please help?

Best answer:

Answer by Jada’s mommy
To know for sure you need to cut out cows milk for awhile and see if it goes away. There are non dairy sources of milk (soy, rice, almond, hemp, etc..)

Question by bby_blue_eyes2003: At what age did you give your child cows milk and why?
I breast feed my son and my milk supply has steadly declined. My son eats baby food, cereal, juice, water, finger foods, and he gets breast milk when he has the patience to wait for it to drop, or if I have the patience to sit pumping for an hour. I get very little breast milk and I have tried EVERYTHING to get the supply up and its just not working. i have tried supplimenting with formula, but he gags on it…I do 1/4 formula/ 3/4 breastmilk, he gags…Dark Kayro, juice to sweeten, but nothing he gags. He is 10.5 months old..this is why I am wondering when you started your kids on cows milk. I know they say wait till they are a year old, because of allergies and such, but he eats his baby food, and he also like to try yogurt, cheeze, ice cream, little sips of milk, or whatever you are eating…and has no reaction to the dairy. no fussiness, no gas, poops fine… so…could be be ready for milk milk? I just cant seem to produce what he needs now….

Best answer:

Answer by Beth
They are really ready by their first birthday but it’s good that you are giving him a taste here and there to get his system ready for dairy. Waiting until his first birthday is ideal.

Question by liz n: My 1-year-old got hives today after drinking cow’s milk yesterday. Is this a typical allergy response?
I have given him cow’s milk occasionally before but only 2-3 oz per day (with no hives in response). Last night he had a total of 6-7 oz of organic whole milk. He woke up more than usual last night crying (apparently in pain), and this morning he has hives. Does is sound like lactose intolerance? What is the best substitute? Soy milk or lactose-free milk? Any other advice about this?

Best answer:

Answer by pennypincher
Hives is NOT lactose intolerance. That is a definite allergic reaction. However, there is the possibility that it may be something other than milk. Has he has anything different lately?

Ive been giving Aubree chese and yogurt for a couple of months now. She does perfectly fine with it. Would you say that she has outgrown the milk allergy?

Her Pediatrician diagnosed her over the phone, without seeing her.. after we found a tiny bit of blood in her stool around 1-2 months old.

Answer by ?Mama de Hayzea y Cruz?
Gosh.. you dont like my answers I am so offended =(

When my son was a baby one doctor put him on soy.. his new doctor (who i loved oh so much!) said it effects their development.. but mostly in boys, so I am not quite sure about girls….

But to my understanding they are supposed to be on whole milk from 12-24 months… (of course I personally gave whole milk I get from WIC them 2% or whatever, mostly even 1%)

EDA My son had a milk allegy and it went away.. his WHOLE back broke out with the first change to milk… he does fine now with it,
