Question by Lori: My 2yr old has food allergies, (wheat, soy, corn, milk, eggs, beef, peanut, and chocolate).?
He doesn’t want to eat hardly anything, and I’m running out of things to try. Basically I give him what he will eat. The only reaction to his food allergies that I see is sometimes sneezing, and a runny nose. I’ve tried to give him foods that he can eat, but he won’t eat them. He drinks rice milk, he’s ok with that. I want to know if by me letting him eat some of the things he’s allergic to is it harming him? (I don’t give him anything with peanuts). For example he loves cheese, hamburgers, corn, etc. and can anyone give me any different foods or ideas of things I can give him. Thank You!
Yes he has been tested, these were all positive. Like I said the runny nose is the only reaction he has.

Giving a child foods that are known allergens can be very dangerous. You could set off anaphylaxis.

Sneezing is not typically a food allergy reaction. Are you sure he’s allergic to these things? Has he been tested?

Question by syg: Coco Beans and Chocolate: Tree nut?
I am allergic to normal nuts like almonds and tree nuts. I’ve noticed when I eat both dark and milk chocolate, I get a very bad stomach ache and throat discomfort. I am not allergic to milk or diary bi-products.

I love to eat chocolate and have eaten it all my life. It obviously isn’t a dire allergy if it hasn’t killed me yet, but the discomfort does bother me, and thus I stopped eating it all together.

Is chocolate in any way a type of nut? As in the coco beam being a tree nut?

Please give me whatever ideas and facts you have regarding this situation.

Question by momma2_isaac03_and_emmett06: Tree nut free chocolate? Recipe/product tips?
I know there are some tree nut free brands out there like Enjoy Life and Amanda’s Own. Any more suggestions? Any great recipe sites or products you’d recommend? My boys have severe egg, dairy and tree nut allergies between them and we are avoiding peanuts as well for now. I’d also prefer to keep soy to a minimum, my little one may be mildly reacting. Thanks in advance and maximum points to the best/most thorough answer !
I guess I should have mentioned I’m only interested in serious replies. Kantana, that is one of the most inane answers I have read.

Question by OceanWolf13: i ate chocolate covered peanuts, peanut allergy reaction? Please answer.?
i ate chocolate covered peanuts and had what seem like a mid allergy reaction.
I got the peanuts from a cvs store, and got sick when i ate some.
But today i ate 4 pieces and got a little sick and felt tire and light headed and my eye were watering.
I ate some sunflower seeds with that but have ate sun flower seeds before.
I ate some white rice nothing in it like the Japanese.
a little after that i started to get more sick and then throw up.
I throw up again later then after that from then around 12pm to now 3pm i have this thing where my thort keeps trying to close and its making it hard to breath.
the FED waring on it says this:

“This product contains Peanuts, Milk and Soy.
May contain Tree Nuts and Wheat.
This Product Was packaged in a Facility Where Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Milk and Soy Are Used in The Production Of Other Products.”

It wasn’t milk that’s for sure and i have ate them before but not in a long time.
And my mom won’t let me eat anything with corn but when I’m with my dad i eat things with corn in it cause he don’t know how to cook much.
But because of the no corn thing we eat soy and wheat all the time.
I have not had something with peanuts in it for like weeks so when i saw the peanut i was like Mmm looks good and i got them i have had No allergy reactions before, but i do have family that’s had allergy reactions.
Can you just suddenly get a allergy reaction?

Please Answer fast so i know.

Yes, you can develop food allergies, and pretty fast, as well, when it comes to peanuts. If you’re throat feels likes it’s swelling up, and you feel like you can’t breathe ,go to the Emerg Dept, NOW. Get you dad or mom to take you there, please
