my son had really bad fine bumps all over his body. The doctor put he on a special formula and told me to stop breastfeeding for a week. The bumps went away. I started to breastfeed him again recently and they are coming back. The doctor told me the has a milk allergy. I want to know should I stop breastfeeding him or what are some things I can eat?

no – allergies is a condition, not a disease. It can be hereditary (passed through genes from conception). Allergies can NOT be passed through breast milk.

Question by I love Gerard Butler: Q for breast feeding mommies…milk allergies?
My one month old is exclusively breastfeeding. She is doing beautifully, she is really thriving.
However, before I realized she was allergic to dairy, she would be in so much pain after feedings, she’d even break out in rash!!! Her little face just cleared up recently.
When I told the doctor her symptoms, her doc told me to stay away from dairy for a couple of months. I no longer drink milk, eat cheese or anything with dairy in it.
My little one is no longer irritated by my breastmilk and her face cleared up.
Have any of you had to lay off certain foods while breastfeeding because your little one was having a bad reaction to it?
I miss milk, oh God I miss milk. I of course wont drink it because I can’t stand to see my little angel in pain.

Yes, you can eat shellfish, but still no more than 2 times per week due to mercury tainting. Just wait until age 3 to carefully introduce shellfish in to the diet of your child, to help prevent your child from developing the allergy.
