Question by feelingrateful: is waking up with a headache & bloated a sign of wheat gluten allergies?

Answer by Kitty
Maybe, I have a wheat gluten allergy and used to feel like that all the time, not just when I woke up in the morning. If you eat wheat on a daily basis and don’t usually feel this way, then I’m guessing it’s probably because of something else. But you never know! If you feel like wheat is a factor, I’d suggest giving a gluten-free diet a try because I tested positive for wheat on an allergy test and let me tell you, I feel amazing!

I hope this answer helps a little, feel better soon!

Question by hanami_apr: Bloated after eating bread – is it wheat allergy?
I normally eat wheat products but not much bread. In January, our rice cooker was broken so I started eating bread instead of rice – every day, sometimes more than once. I had this terrible bloating, especially when waking up in the morning. I also had slight diarrhea daily. I went to see my doc he ordered an ultrasound (everything there was fine). I mentioned him about my suspicion of bread, but he just told me “if you think bread is bad for you, you can stop eating bread”.
Now I stopped eating bread and I’m fine, however, I still eat other wheat products (pasta doesn’t seem to bother me). But when I had a pizza and I got sick again.
Can I be allergic to wheat based on what I wrote here? If I am, how come pasta seems to be fine?
How do they test wheat allergy? I’ve never had any allergy test in my life.

hey i have the same problem, what i have figured out is that i have an intolerance to wheat and although it may not be scientific, when i eat too much wheat products, it is like my stomach “overloads” and cannot take the amount of wheat im consuming. what i do to combat this is i still eat wheat but i try to swap the risen wheat products like pastries and white bread for things like biscuits and pitta breads. basically, reduce the amount of wheat you eat in a short period of time. i also taken a pill each morning of “acidopholis” which settles my stomach. an alternative to this is a yogurt or actimel drink with “friendly bacteria” in. hope this helps :)

It doesn’t matter if the beef is high quality steak or cheap hamburger meat, so the fat content is not a common factor. They have no problem digesting corn and milk, and have no other food intolerances or allergies. My husband finds it a nuisance. My 9 year old daughter is embarrassed. I’m looking for a remedy or solution to my stinky situation. We don’t eat meat very often, only once a month or so.
