Question by Bsdfs: Milk allergy: Taking Benadryl?
I’m 15 and I have a milk allergy. When I have something with milk, or something with milk-products? (Whey, casein, lactose…) this spot in my throat feels like it’s on fire. It’s a strange spot… This is gross, but you know how you can suck snot in from your nose into your mouth through a hole thing in your throat? Well, right where that hole thing is, that’s where it burns if I have milk.

I also have discovered, after 9 years of recurrent sinus infections and a lot of self researching, that it was milk giving me sinus infections. If I have milk, my throat burns, I start getting a lot of mucus, and within days I have a sinus infection.

Anyways, if I take Benadryl before I eat something with milk, would that stop all symptoms of a reaction? If not, what can I take?
I did see a DR, they know all about this. I usually have soy milk/rice milk.

That will not help. You need to drink Lactose free milk or go see a doctor to find
out what is going on and why. That sounds like a weird reaction to milk.

1 hour ago I took around two shots of grey goose lemon and I am not drunk but can I take any benadryl yet it’s been one hour would I have felt a reaction by now I am allergic to just tree nuts

There should be no problem with a reaction to Vodka if you are allergic to tree nuts. If you are having a reaction…go to the ER. One benadryl will not take care of it if it is a true reaction.

I have had an allergic episode after eating shrimp. I have not had this before. I want to try eating shrimp again, will BENADRYL help with the allergi reaction if it occurs?

You’d better not, since you are likely to have an anaphylactic reaction, which is shock leading to death. Benadryl won’t even begin to have an effect while your throat swells so much that you can’t breathe and die within minutes. In fact you need to see your doctor about it and be sure to get an epi-pen, which contains the emergency drug epinephrine, which is the only thing that can be administered to help a patient in anaphylactic shock. But you must carry it with you anytime you go out to eat where there might be shellfish around, even if you don’t eat them they may have come in contact with your food or plate. Since the shock will kill you in minutes, you must let whoever you’re with know where your epi-pen is carried and how to inject you in case the worst happens.

I think I am being paranoid but I have a tree nut allergy and at ten thirty I took three lemon drops which we used lemonade and lemon grey goose vodka I am not drunk I havnt dranken since then I am a 170lb male, but I am freaking out would I have ha a reaction by now? Can I take any benadryl before I go to bed or no?

If you’re concerned then there wouldn’t be any harm in taking benadryl other than getting tired which is a usual side effect from benadryl.
Besides, I never heard that lemon was a nut but rather a fruit.
