My 4 month old daughter has a diaper rash where it looks like the top layer of skin has burned off in some places. It’s not too bad but I’m still concerned. Her stool is a little runny with tiny lumps in it. She has been on this formula for a little over a month but I know allergy’s can build up over time. I let her eat about a tablespoon of organic rice cereal about 3 days ago. I also bought her some new diaper wipes but they say hypoallergenic. Do you think it’s the wipes or the formula. I’m almost sure it’s the formula. The brand is Baby’s only organic milk based.

it could also be a yeast infection, those are hard to get rid of, look for rough or bumpy skin in or around the rash. there is medication called vusion i think for it. it looks similsr to burned and bumpy skin, sometimes little sores too.

Yea, I agree with the yeast infection. My daughter gets this on and off, she’s about 8 months old now. See the Dr. for a prescription, and put vaseline on it before then. Good luck,

I agree with the first answer. It does sound like a possible yeast infection. My granddaughter had one recently and your description fits her rash exactly.

Did you go from one milk based formula to another? If both were milk based, I’d be surprised if it were the formula, but having “strange” poos doesn’t bode well for the wipes being the problem.

If there are bumps around where the rash is, it could be a yeast infection, which are notoriously hard to get rid of (my son had one for nearly two months).

Have you been putting any cream on it? If you have, and seen no difference, it’s likely either an allergy or a yeast infection.

Well, the only way to find out is to eliminate one or the other (or both) and see what happens. My son can only handle the Pampers sensitive wipes – anything else and he gets a rash, so it could be those, even if they are hypoallergenic.

For a formula alternative, you could try Earth’s Best…also organic.

In the meantime, try a thick coating of Aquaphor each time you change her…it’s sort of “seals” the skin so it doesn’t get irritated by moisture, etc…it’s like a miracle cream in my opinion!

Also, keep in mind that some parents say their kids get runny diapers and diaper rash when they start teething. They say there is a certain enzyme in their saliva to help with the teething that irriates them – she’s just at the point where she might be starting to get teeth. My son seems to have this happen each time he cuts new teeth.

I’m not sure what causing it but i’ve learned if babies are in their pampers for long periods of time they do sometimes get rashes. Even if they just pee.
