Hi.
My daughter is 14 months old and i still have her on S26 gold formula and am thinking of putting her on cow’s milk. The other day i gave her a 150ml bottle of 99% fat free cow’s milk and she seemed ok for the rest of the day, but developed gas later that night. The next day she had a runny stool that smelled so horrible, one of the worst i have ever smelt! So do you think it’s the milk that caused her symptoms? Do you think she could have a milk Allergy or intolerance? Or is it just her stomach being sensitive because she isn’t use to it?

Thanks, your help would be great :)

She might just be getting used to it. Wait a few days then offer it again. If the same thing happens talk to a doctor.

Toddlers are supposed to drink whole vitamin D milk not skim/1%/Fat Free. They need the higher fat content.

Her stomach is just getting used to the milk that’s all. Her BM will become normal after a few days and then she will LOVE drinking milk. My baby is 12 months and that’s how she was. And I only giver her whole milk

    Hi,
I would give her milk on cereal first then start to mix half milk and half formula.
You need to use full cream milk too.

    Goodluck

It takes a few weeks for her to adjust to new milk–she shouldn’t be drinking a bottle at all–and the switch should be gradual. Do 75% formula to 25% whole milk for 3 to 4 days, then do 50% formula to 50% milk, for 3-4 days, then do 25% formula 75% milk for 3 to 4 days, then all milk. MUCH easier on her system as she gets used to the milk. After a week of being on ONLY milk with no formula mixed in at all and her poop is still runny, THEN call the doctor.

I think you should try it again. If it’s still happening in a few days, call your pediatrician.

    Might be lactose intolerant.

She needs whole milk though… fat free is no good for babies and toddlers.
