Can adults develop food allergies to nuts and shellfish ?

Just curious if anyone has had an all nut and all seafood food allergy develop later in life? If so, how and to what? Thanks.

It happens! My co-worker recently developed an allergy to seafood. It happened at a buffet when she had shrimp. It made her sad, because she loved eating shrimp. Oh well, it’s dangerous to eat it if you are allergic, because your throat can swell up and you can’t breathe and some people get a really bad rash too.

Yes-allergies can develop at any time in life. My neighbour has recently developed a peanut allergy and having eaten it for the last 50 years without problem

Yes! I know someone who discovered a tree nut allergy in her 30′s after eating pistachio ice cream. It was her favorite.
