Does a milk allergy mean egg and nut allergies also?

I have just learned that my 6 month old daughter is allergic to milk (formula) I have switched her to soy formula and she is already so much better. Is soy formula safe to use? I have found conflicting information on this. Should I also assume she is allergic to eggs and nuts and avoid introducing them until she’s 3? (for our other daughter we introduced nuts and eggs at 12 months with no problems)
She is not lactose intolerant, we tried that first, she is allergic to the protein in milk.

your daughter is not actually allergic to milk, more so she would be lactose intolerant.. soy is a great alternative, most of asia are also lactose intolerant and use soy alternatives also.. the risk other food allergies are not related to lactose intolerance.. but to be safe u should visit your paediatrician for the relevant tests.

she is not allergic to every thing else just the milk. my first and third were the same way. my oldest grew out of it but my third is still a baby. i give my second eggs all the time. eggs are okay at 12 months. wic gives them to you so it has to be okay. then for nuts never give a baby nuts until around two or three because giving them nuts to early which also includes peanut butter because that can give them allergies. soy is fine for babies or else it wouldnt be on the market for them. it is like a vegetarian kinda milk.

if you are allergic to milk then that means that you are allergic to lactose; there is no lactose in eggs or nuts

Your DD is not allergic to milk it is the lactose in the milk. When milk is pasteurized it kills the lactase which is the needed enzyme to digest lactose.
When you switch her to regular milk if she is still not able to digest the lactose you can try raw milk, it contains the lactase necessary for proper digestion of the milk. It is much easier for our bodies to digest the calcium from raw milk as well.
Plus it makes the best ice cream and hot chocolate!

I also recently read some awful thing about soya.
But you have heaps of alternatives in Goats milk as well, in Australia there is a lactose free milk we have as my husband has lactose intolerant we picked that up by luck.
The difference is he does have a bowel problem so he can never have peanuts but he does love his eggs they don’t have lactose as she gets older just read the label’s.
Soft coddled eggs will be fine at 6 months.
Any way see you paediatrician to get everything right and I think I would stay away from soya she is to young

I’m sorry you’re getting so many answers telling you that your daughter isn’t allergic to milk and that she’s just lactose intolerant. People just don’t understand there is a difference.
My 10 month old son is allergic to milk, eggs, and nuts. We see a pediatric allergist.
Hopefully your daughter is not allergic to eggs and nuts. It’s not a given that she is, although since she is allergic to milk, she is prone to allergies, so I would wait to give her eggs and nuts just to make sure.
Or, you could take her to an allergist and they can test her for eggs, nuts, and all of the other “big” allergens. Then, you can give her foods knowing she isn’t allergic. This has been a big help with my son. Eggs and nuts are a great source of protein and minerals, so it would be really great if she could eat these. Get her checked out!! You won’t regret it trust me. Every time we go, I wish he could be checked for more things.
Good luck.
