Your baby has already been exposed to milk through cheese and yoghurt so whole milk should not have a too strong of a reaction on her if she eats the other foods just fine.
The color of poop does not mean anything unless it’s red (direct quote from parents magazine) if there is mucus in the poop or diarrhea then your little one had a reaction to the milk. Consider postponing the introduction for another few weeks/month. Also purchase organic milk.

It’s possible but you haven’t given enough information. You should probably give your doc a call. Allergies tests are really quite simple these days. My son started having them at 8 months and they don’t bother him at all.

  2. gumby says:

Could just be the change in diet not necessarily a allergy.

  3. elaeblue says:

It can be. It can also just mean that it’s a new thing. Try discontinuing the cow’s milk and see if the rash clears up. Then wait a month and try it again and see what happens.

i think it is. what about her poop? did it change it’s usually strong odor? i’ve been allergic to cows milk, all i could drink was soy milk. if she is, then switch to soy. not everyone it lactose tolerant, and maybe it includes your child

Take her off cows milk. If the rash still stays remove the cheese. If same then remove yogurt.
If the rash doesn’t get better until you remove them all, yup she is probably allergic to cows milk. Consider goats milk. You can find it canned in the grocery store. Or buy from a goat farmer. If nothing else if you live in a rural area, buy a milk goat!
Wonderful story… my husband was allergic to cows milk as a baby and toddler. His parents bought a milk goat. They liked to camp out and fish on rivers. They’d just take the goat along, putting it in the truck of their car. Imagine driving through a city and the goat bleating at stop lights…

yes yes yes… try soy milk
it has just as much of everything that the baby needs without the bad stuff…
    God Bless

yes, especially if the rash includes a red ring around the “butt hole”…..there is not any need to give cows milk….i would first try soy milk, and if you are worried about calcium, i’d try cooked green veggies….not broccoli at first cause it can cause gas, but i would try kale, chard, and (my favorite) dandelion greens….steam them for a while so that your child can eat them….also, you can chew it up first(where kissing came from)…i, too, have a one year old….he has not been introduced to cows milk yet and his pediatrician is fine with this….soy can cause rash too, so if it does, give the steamed greens….they’re better for ya anyway.

  8. ? says:

It’s unlikely to be an allergy if she’s been ok before with cheese and yoghurt. Could just be the difference in the way cows milk is made up compared to breast milk.
You could try increasing her fluid intake as cows milk has more solids in that breastmilk or baby formula. Also, it could be a change in weather making her more sweaty around that area and just coincided with you putting her onto cows milk. Or just a good old fashioned urine infection.

oh my goodness “nappy rash” is the freggin funniest phrase i have ever hear of i will use this till the end of time hahhah but now really you should discontinue the cows milk and try soy….i will never forget this question ill be using that phrase all weekend long!
