Some formulas ( I forget which ones now because my youngest is 18 mths ) are milk based with protiens or glutens removed.
If your son is truely allergic to milk then those formulas will not work. However he maybe sensitive, he have a gluten allergy, he may have a problem to protiens. There are a variety of formula's that can not be pronounced. Some costing up to $40-$50 a can depending on how special they are.
My personal opion is that if the formula works then stick to it no matter what. Milk based is best but if you can not use it then get the next best thing.
Keep using it if he isn't getting sick from it.

No it isn't. My son was put on Nutramigen due to a cows milk protein allergy. I noticed a complete difference within the first 24hrs. It is hypoallergenic. Similac makes the same kind & it is called Allimentum.
