Assume the person hates the taste of SOY, drinks coffee with milk daily and cannot drink it black, and has egg whites rather than whole eggs for cholesterol benefits. Knowing that eggs and milk are staples in so much of what we eat, i.e., pizza, bread, pasta, what can be used instead? Liquid egg substitues have already been suggested and will be used as much as possible.

Helpful products for milk allergy: Rice milk/beverage is a common substitute for cow’s milk. It does not contain the same amounts of nutrients as cow’s milk so calcium and vitamin D supplements are often needed. Fortified soy beverage is a good substitute for cow’s milk as it provides the same amount of protein and other nutrients such as calcium and vitamin D. However, most individuals who are allergic to cow’s milk are also allergic to soy protein. For this reason, it is advised only to try soy beverage under the supervision of a physician. Although some individuals who are allergic to cow’s milk can tolerate goat’s milk, many are allergic to both cow’s and goat’s milk. Similarly to soy beverage, it is recommended that goat’s milk is only tried under the supervision of a physician. There are also hypoallergenic infant formulas available for bottle feeding. Other dairy free foods include non dairy chocolate (carob), non-dairy cheese, non-dairy yogurt and non-dairy ice cream.
Helpful products for egg allergy: While there are no alternatives that can replace the taste of eggs, there are some substitutes that can duplicate its cooking qualities. Many egg-free recipes substitute a mixture of vegetable oil, baking powder and water for the egg. Egg substitutes and egg white substitutes are also available. Be sure to check the ingredients label carefully, as some egg substitutes still contain egg whites.

    Hi Odetta!
Egg substitute is what I use, it works really well as a substitute to real eggs, and can be used when pretty much an egg is called for; there is a exchange table on the side of or somewhere on the carton.
I have switched over to Almond Breeze from milk for most other of my milk needs; cereal, etc. Rice milk is another one which isn’t bad either, though I like the Almond Breeze best.
Non Dairy coffee creamer is what I used when I drank coffee, or non fat evaporated milk works too.
I have had to make a lot of adjustments because of health issues which since the changes, I am really doing good so it does make a notable difference when you change your diet.
I would Google Food Alternatives, you will have plenty of web sites to choose from: try this one; http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/h…
    Good luck!

Rice milk is sweeter than soy milk, in my opinion, and it’s pretty good on cereal. My problem with it is that it seems to go bad more quickly, so I no longer buy the larger containers – it’s cheaper to buy the juice box-size.
As someone else said, there are LOTS of options for non-dairy coffee creamers so that should be no problem.
The alternate to egg whites depends on what you’re trying to make. You might try visiting a local health food store to see what they have available. It’s bound to be pricey but once you know what you’re looking for, you can ask your regular grocer whether they’d consider stocking it.
    Good luck

If milk is only needed for for coffee, non-dairy creamers would be an easy fix, and there are plenty of those out there. For anything else, though, soy milk is the only thing that comes to mind. My best friend is actually allergic to a protein in dairy milk and has lived his whole life so far without it. It’s more of something you have to get used to, just as he did. He can have soy milk, but doesn’t like the taste either so just does without.

try rice milk to replace the milk, or maybe almond milk. there is plenty of bread with no dairy or eggs in it, just read ingredients. Most pasta has no dairy or egg in it, again read ingredients.
