My 7 Week Old Son Is Allergic To “normal” Baby Formula, Could This Mean He Will Also B Allergic To Cows Milk?

He will most likely grow out of the allergy. My son and nephew had to use soy formula, and when they turned one they did have some symptoms of allergy when we switched them to milk. Then, within six months, they both had grown out of the allergy. There did not used to be soy milk products at the grocer but now I have noticed they do have lots of options for milk substitutes, even fortified rice milk. In the event that your son has trouble switching to milk at age 1 you will be able to find plenty of options for him. Best of luck to you, and Congrats on your new edition! Oh and PS – watch for constipation when you use the soy or switch from soy to milk again. Those were the times I had to keep an eye on our boys

Nope doesn’t mean he will have a milk allergy. Most babies that are on Soy formula do just fine on cows milk when they turn 12 months old. My boys had to be on soy based as well and now they drink milk like crazy. A babies tummy is just more sensitive so a lot of babies seem to have problems with milk based formulas.

I had my son on soy based formula because the normal formula upset his body too much. He was constantly fussy. He was better with the soy and now he loves cows milk. He has no problems. I’m not sure what type of allergic reaction your child had. I hope this helps.

Not necessarily. My SIL had to have soy formula also and she is still allergic to some foods, but not dairy products.

most likely yes since normal formula is dervied from cows mild. its ok, there are tons of products out there, he will be alright.
