If A Baby Is Allergy To Lactose Can He Consume Breast Milk?

LaLeche league told me that if a baby is lactose intolerant, then the mother has to avoid dairy products. She will be able to nurse as long as she avoids dairy herself.

You have to be sure that the baby has a lactose intolerance, and not a milk allergy! The difference between the 2 can be found in what the person can and cannot consume.
If a person is intolerant(allergic) to lactose, no dairy products should be consumed. This includes breast milk!
“Human milk has the highest lactose percentage at around 9%. Unprocessed cow milk has 4.7% lactose. Unprocessed milk from other mammals contains similar lactose percentages (goat milk 4.1%, buffalo 4.86%, yak 4.93%, sheep milk 4.6%)”
If a person has a milk allergy, this pertains only to the proteins found in cows milk, so if this is the case, the baby would be able to consume human milk!!
Hope this helps!!
Cheers!
