Is It Colic, Fussiness, Gas, Milk Allergy?

i have a 7wk old son. Up until last week, he only cried when he was hungry or needed a diaper change. Now, he seems to cry all the time. It’s not just a cry, it’s red faced, screaming! He even starts to choke and hyperventilate. I’ve used the same formula since birth. I’ve tried feeding him more ounces in one sitting and that seemed to make him spit up a lot. He was constipated and i gave him prune juice and it helped. Now he’s not constipated but he still cries. He stops crying if we rock him, sometimes. Also, if we go for a car ride. As soon as he’s alone or not moving he will start to cry again…
HELP!!

Sounds like Gas…at walmart or any drug store they have Infant gas relief drops….get those and they work wonders.
My daughter had colic for her first 3 months and those helped tremendously.
Also you you could take your son to the doctor….and they will prescribe something to help him feel better!
I hope he feels better….try the drops they really work!
If he’s constipated you can also add a tiny bit of Karo syrup to what he’s drinking and he’ll be pooping in no time!

girl we are in the same boat! i have a 7wk old son that has been doing the same thing. we switched him to soy and he was soo much better. he was having horrible stomach cramps and gas. use thse gas drops as much as needed i give him some after every feedng. when i finally took him in the dr couldnt find anything wrong till she listened to his tummy and she let me listen…it made me want to cry it was just full of gas and bubbles…you should def. take him in or try something easier on his stomach! good luck

my son is the same age ..last week i took him to his Dr because i thought he now is getting gas ..i also had him on the same formula since birth and he went through the constipation thing and major spitting up. Anyhow, while we were in there he started crying ..red face , screaming, and his Dr happened to walk in at the same time and saw that and what I got was that ur son ir colicky … who knew…he said his belly feels hard like it does have gas and the way he is screaming tells him he is …he stated that comforting them is usually when they feel like they are moving all the time and that’s why he gets more quiet in the car.He said he used to put his own colicky son in the car seat and on the dryer to calm him down. I now bounce my son on my shoulder up and down to clam him down. He said it should go away within a few months , and now I see more of a pattern.. screaming more in the afternoon for about an hour or two and only the movement/ vibration illusion makes him calm down. PS: His Dr also attempted a change in formula for gassy kids, and stated if it doesn’t work in a few days with the gas to go back to the old one… and the switch only caused more spit up issues than the usual, already severe ones. I got a shower of major spit up 2 nights in a row. GL dear

I would say from what you are describing he does have gas. It can actually make the crying and gas worse when you try to feed the baby more, but it is a common reaction by most parents myself included.
If your son gets constipated again, you may want to try some caro syrup in his formula, or a small sliver of soap as a suppository works really well too. My youngest son has colic but also severe constipation with it, and that is what the doctor instructed us to use. The prune juice has high levels of sugar and can actually make gas worse even though it gets rid of the constipation.
There are special pillows that you can purchase in order to position the baby correctly during feeding to minimize gas, as well as special bottles and nipples as well. You may want to try a swaddling technique to soothe him too.
