We tried switching her back to milk based formula at 6 months and it didn't work. She had the same symptoms as before...rashes, eczema on her face, bad gas, blood in stool. We waited until 10 months, and she did ok. We did it quite slowly....1/4 Alimentum, 3/4 regular and so on. I know how expensive it is! For some reason, my daughter couldn't tolerate the powder version, and had to have the Ready to Feed...$9.00 for a 32 ounce bottle...and she drank 1 a day!! But first, I would try to have your health insurance pay for it, if you have it. I know of many mothers that get expensive formula for free for similar reasons. Good luck! She started to tolerate soy at about 6 months and milk at 12 months. She would still get a little gasey when she had alot, so I did half and half.
