Parents Of Children With Milk Allergy (not Intolerance)…?

My 6mo old has a milk allergy and it pops up in hives and eczema. We had an exposure Th morning. I know his histamine levels will stay elevated for days, but I was wondering how long I can expect the occasional hive or eczema flare up?
We’ve got a TH appointment with an allergist and I’m just trying to stay sane so I don’t rush him to the ER every little pink mark I see (of course I’d go for a hive, etc…).

I’m not a parent of a child with a milk allergy, but I have had a milk allergy for my entire life (I’m 28).
I’m not sure how long there could continue to be hives or eczema flare-ups. But to help with the symptoms, give him an oatmeal bath and/or make an oatmeal paste to apply to the rashy/itchy areas of his body. Aloe can also help relieve hives and itchiness.
I also find Aveeno works very well.
I can definitely understand why any allergic reaction is frightening (both from my mom’s stories about raising me, and from my own experiences).
The thing you’d need to be worried about is an anaphylactic reaction. If he starts having difficulty breathing, has major swelling or begins to vomit, rush him to emergency. I’m also including some information about these kinds of reactions.
(My experience on this topic is having multiple severe allergies and anaphylaxis).

I don’t know the answer to your question, but just a thought for the future: When i went to live in the dorms at my college, one of the friends i met was allergic to dairy. One day, he went to get eggs from the cafeteria for breakfast, and the chefs put butter on them without saying anything (its illegal so there was a lot of lawyers afterwards…). My friend went into shock and 2 epi pens later, I was in an ambulence on the way to the ER with him. So, in short, throughout your sons life, unless he outgrows the allergy, really keep reminding him to ALWAYS ask if something has dairy. Especially Dennys…. nothing there is safe really. I do know that my friends hives, after leaving the ER, went away 4 days later. Not sure for infants

my friend gave her kid goats milk.thats the only milk she is not allergic to.she still drinks it today.
