If A Baby Has A Milk Allergy…would She Throw Up Every Time She Had A Bottle?

My daughter has been throwing up frequently. Once a day for about a week now. We are going to the Dr as SOON as the insurance card comes in. Two weeks ago she cut her 2 bottom teeth (she is 4 1/2 months old) and everyone has been telling me her throwing up has been because she was teething. That doesn’t seem right to me anymore and i’m starting to think she has a milk allergy but she doesn’t throw up after every bottle. Could it still be a milk allergy?? And please no hateful comments saying I should have taken her to the doctor already, we are going very soon. I have also been giving her pedialyte to keep her hydrated.

No, lactose intollerant maybe. If she was truly allergic to milk, she would be having hives, itchy mouth/throat, watery eyes, sneezing, and possibly an anaphylactic reaction (where the throat closes up).
She would not even tolerate the bottle AT ALL if she was allergic…. you’d be at the hospital with her.
Throwing up may be an intolerance to milk or even lactose intolerance, but it is not a true milk allergy.

A milk allergy would have been detected long before 4 1/2 months. She would have been very sick and/or not gaining any weight.
. You should probably take her to the docs so they can either put her on a medicine OR there are kinds of formula that help with it.
More than likely your baby has reflux

My daughter had a milk allergy also. She didn’t throw up with every bottle either. The allergy also caused constipation. You”re right in keeping your baby hydrated. She will be fine. As soon as you can get her to the doctor, he will recommend other things she can drink. Hope this helps.

Could be. Pick up a can of soy formula the next time your at the store. It won’t hurt to try her on it.

Not sure. But you can go before the card comes. Just call the insurance company and ask if you are covered now, you probably are. Ask them for the information so you can take her sooner.
I would think if she did have a milk allergy she would have a belly ache and be crying. Has she been fussy? Also, you could be feeding her to much and that is why she is throwing up.(i did it) If you multiply her weight by 2.5 that is a round about figure of how much she should be getting in a day.
Also, im not sure it is a good idea to give her pedialite. Her system may not be ready to handle the sweeteners they put in it. but check with the doctor. You can also call the doctors office and talk to the doctor or a nurse. They may ask you your name, when i call they usually dont unless it is off hours and i go through the answering service.
